Trip 1: The contractor brought the cultured marble components and installed the shower base so the new drywall could go up. Trip 2: Scheduled to finish the installation, the contractor arrived but did not have the glass shower enclosure. Having received a shipping notice, he went to the shipping terminal but no shower enclosure. Calling the company, he was told the shipment was still in the warehouse. He related there had been a billing problem but thought that had been resolved. The contractor did install the wall panels and, using PVC pipe and two shower curtains, jerry-rigged an enclosure so we could take showers. Trip 3: The contractor arrived with the glass enclosure to install. The first part of the installation was progressing fine until installing the return panel. Oops - two inches too narrow! That meant a new tempered glass panel needed to be ordered so time for a temporary creative fix with wide blue painter's tape to cover the gap. It was an improvement over the previous fix. Trip 4: As scheduled, the contractor arrived with a glass panel of the correct width and installed it. Everything appeared to be fine and a check was written for the job. Over the next couple of weeks while using the shower, some irregularities were noticed. 1. There were glass supports installed at the top and bottom of the panel next to the door but the top ones were missing at the top of the replaced return panel. 2. The return panel was one-half inch too short which may explain the why the glass supports were not installed. 3. The two glass panels rattled in the metal frame when the door closes and the magnetic door gasket latched onto the metal corner post. There were vertical gaskets or seals missing on the glass panels that are shown in the instruction manual. 4. The bottom rail for the return panel was not parallel to the base as it varies one-half inch in twenty-five inches. As this was not an inexpensive shower and wanting these issues addressed, we tried to get in touch with him by calling both his home number and cell number and leaving messages. A couple of weeks passed before he called and agreed to see our issues with the shower. Trip 5: I pointed out the four issues with the shower and he took measurements to order a replacement return panel. Trip 6: The contractor arrived with a new return panel and some gasket material which didn't match the color or shape of the factory gaskets. Wanting to correct everything at once, he stored the glass panel under a bed until he has the correct gaskets. After waiting several weeks to hear from the contractor, we attempted to contact him by phone and there was no response. Then we sent a certified letter requesting that he address the shower issues and there has been no response. Now, after six trips for a job that should have taken only two trips, we still have the issues with the shower plus a glass panel under a bed!
Description of Work: Howell Custom Construction was contracted to install a shower system during a remodel of our downstairs bathroom. The shower base and two wall panels of cultured marble from one company and glass enclosure from a second company were supplied by Howell Custom Construction. My part was to remove the old shower and drywall, have the pluming done, arrange for hanging, taping and texturing new drywall, paint and provide new shower fixtures.

He was never here when he said he would be. His employees were load and rude. The work was very shabby and I had to redo stuff. He did not finish up the job himself. I had to finish it. The owner was hardly here to watch his employees and they were very wasteful with materials.
Description of Work: They put the walls and the roof on the upper addition.
