WIBLING CONSTRUCTION

The work went very well. Paul Wibling has over 30 years of construction experience, is a skilled carpenter himself, and had three excellent co-workers, contractors in their own right, working with him. We had some idea of what we wanted, and Paul worked with us in planning the deck, as well as very responsive to our wishes, while offering advice, based on his experience and expertise, throughout the project. We wanted to use stainless steel cable for railing, with Evergrain flooring, and Trex post covers and upper and lower railings, and several collaborative design decisions had to be made as the work progressed. Paul had not installed cable railing before (it is almost nonexistent in our area), but he immersed himself in that part of the project, attending carefully to instructions and very helpful advice from the excellent cable company in Carson City, NV--The Cable Connection--from which I obtained the cable and fittings. Throughout, the job was an interactive process and we are very pleased with the outcome--and it came in within the $25,000 estimate Paul provided when we first discussed the job. Paul also took out a double widow in our dining area and installed an Andersen sliding door to the deck in its place. Another job well done. And, we had a 10' x 6' balcony off our master bedroom that we were going to have painted, but the deck went so well that we had Paul replace the balcony, with material compatible with the large deck. Again, there was mutual involvement in the design and we are very happy with the outcome--including that it came in within his $2,000 estimate. We are lined up to have Paul install another sliding door out of our basement family room and replace the carpet in our dinning-living room area with maple flooring. His work is excellent and it is great to have an expert contractor who listens well, and responds thoughtfully, to our thoughts about what we would like done.
