I normally hate talking with techie types but these guys were great. They got rid of my viruses and explained what I did wrong to get them. I could actually understand what they were talking about. That's a first! It took a little longer to get done but they were very busy. It took about 5 days to get my system back but it is running really well a month later. The system actually seems to be running better than before I got the bugs in it. I asked if I needed to buy a different antivirus from them and they said mine was just fine as long as I stop downloading stuff from bad websites. I will be going back if I have other issues.

Great. I have a part-time consulting business and was worried about recovering work files, in addition to personal pictures and other info that I had not backed up. They were able to recover all files, replace my hard drive and get me up and running again.

They did a fine job. There were some settings for my home network that didn't work right when I got it back, and they were very helpful - called me to make sure I could get things set up right.

The technician was a few minutes late but that is ok as the work was great. The technician was able to diagnose the issue very quckly though I had spent hours on the phone with my ISP's uspport and they couldn't help me. Once the tech guy determined the issue was my router, he quickly went to his office and brought a new router our. He set it up and confirmed it was secured and working right. Good deal. I wish I had known ahead of time I could not pay for this with a credit card but that is ok too since they I can surf again and it has worked great since he fixed the problems.

We didn't use the computer for emails any longer as we purchased a tablet for that. All the computer has been used for is
word processing and printing.
Less than a month later we once again received the "Blue Screen of Death". It is impossible that this is due to viruses. I copied down the error code (something I didn't know to do previously). I looked up the code and found that it is a driver issue but I have no idea what driver or how to fix it.
We called Custom Computer Technologies and told them that the "Blue Screen was back." We expected them to stand behind their work knowing that the computer belonged to an elderly lady and at least be willing to look at it. WRONG! My mother was told that they only stand behind their work for 7 days and there is no way to tell if it is the same issue. Richard was condescending and rude, telling her that she needed to take computer classes and learn something and that it was her fault for downloading viruses.
She ended the call but he called back shortly thereafter & told her to report him wherever she wanted as he would answer the complaint and make her look ridiculous.
When I called later in the day I was told that my mother was too demanding and didn't know what she was talking about. He then turned on me and was so rude I had to hang up.
I was told to "go ahead and post on Angies List because he would do everything he could to make me look like a fool and embarrass me" Guess what, I don't care...he should have been a professional and he was far from that.

"A few details left out of this story: 1. At the time the customer called and demanded I repair her laptop for free, it had been 61 days (ticket# 4440) since we had last seen the system. 2. The customer refused to let us do a free courtesy warranty check on the system but instead demanded that I guarantee I would fix ANY issue it had for free, without first seeing it, because I had worked on it 2 months prior. According to her, I was now responsible for anything that occurs with the system after that. 3. Her insistence that it is impossible to get a virus unless using email is patently false. 4. I have no idea if the new issue was a virus as she would not allow me to even look at the system for free until I agreed to fix it "sight-unseen" or they would "ruin my reputation" with posts like this. All I can say is it had been viruses causing the issues I repaired 61 days earlier (not "a month"). 5. We had worked on her system specifically for viruses a number of times previously, going back 5 years. 6. Her own claims, at the time of the call to us, say her system worked great, "until the other day", after I worked on it...so clearly, I did in fact, do my job and provided the services agreed upon. Again, that was 61 days prior. ~ It is impossible for any business to guarantee or warranty that a customer cannot do something to damage or crash a system at some point in the future, let alone get another virus if that is what occurred. It is sad when we cannot make a customer happy but this requires integrity from all involved. We work hard for our customers, stand by our work, and have had to, I am sorry to say, do true warranty work due to an error by us. The customer refused to allow us to examine the issue and it was, at 2 months, past any reasonable software-related warranty."
