Relocating is a stressful time in anyone’s life.  I have made numerous military and corporate moves over the past three decades, from moving across the United States to moving overseas and back again.  I am in the process of relocating to the Bitterroot area.  I’ve made two phone calls to Cardinal Property Management inquiring about properties they have listed on their website.  Both times I called, the Cardinal Property Management personnel were off-putting and rude.  Cardinal Property Management will not discuss any of their listed available properties for lease unless the potential tenant submits an application including credit check and background check.
      I am simply following a process of inquiry similar to one I’ve used for many years.  This is the first time I’ve been treated with disdain just for requesting information about a property, and the first time I've encountered a property manager that will not discuss their available properties unless I provide them with my personal and protected information.
      I also own investment property in another state.  As a landlord myself, and as a potential lessee in the Bitterroot area, based on the poor reception I received from Cardinal Property Management, I have to advise others to “run” from Cardinal. 
Certainly Cardinal Property Management's negative policy toward potential renters does not have a positive effect on the property owner who's entrusted their property to Cardinal.
     I will follow my own advice and avoid them from here on.  I will find a property that does not involve Cardinal Property Management, Hamilton, MT.

Overall, as long as you leave them alone they pretty much leave you alone butwhen you go to check out, even if you are the best tenant, she will try to rip you off. Plus, she is a very rude person. I would not trust renting from them again.
