A friend referred me to 1040 when I complained about paying over $400 for H & R Block's services. I called and made the appointment. My friend told me she was charged $75, but I just thought that was for simple taxes. They tax preparer met with us, took our documents, asked us questions as she entered the information, and that was it. In less than an hour our state and federal taxes were completed. Even with itemizing, deductions, job changes, income from 2 states, etc...we still only paid the $75. It turned out we owed money on our federal return, so they even filed an extension for us no charge. The customer service was great. It was an incredible value. I tried to do my taxes online this year...just to get an estimate, and I just couldn't find places to plug in all my info, so without a doubt I will continue to use 1040 Express. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
