Excellent! Only lasted about 2.5 hours and he walked me through everything he was doing/checking. The best part about Dan is that he's able to point out even the smallest things that could potentially lead to larger problems or efficiency loss. During the process he'd give me tips/tricks on how to fix something small or things to keep my eye on. This was a huge help for me, being a first time homeowner.

Dan McCormick, of Lake View Property Inspections, inspected our 2500 square foot home, guest house, barn, and other outbuildings to include our well. Within two business days of the request, we had an appointment. After describing the property over the phone, Dan provided us a number of pointers (such as getting our well log and septic permit and why), fully described his services, quoted his pricing scheme, and accurately predicted the amount of time he would need to take to conduct the inspection.

Dan spent a significant amount of time educating us not only about the house we were looking to buy, but the discrepancies, their severity, why they were discrepancies, and what priority we could assign to their resolution. As we were getting a VA loan, Dan also took time to identify other potential issues which were not inspection discrepancies, but might be issues for a government loan appraisal (e.g. the lack of vertical slats on a hand-railing as a potential safety issue in the eyes of an appraiser).

Dan finished the inspection on time, for a fee took care of water and radon inspections for us, and kept the price of his services to that exactly described during our initial phone conversation. Not only did we learn a lot about our potential home, we just learned a lot period about local codes, requirements, and land/home issues. A very pleasant experience!
