I contracted with this company to paint the wood exterior of my home this past spring (2014). The owner, Duke, was prompt in coming to give a verbal estimate, followed up by a written estimate. His prep work was commendable, using a power washer, as well as an oil primer. He used a Sherwin Williams latex top coat. He also contracted for some minor carpentry work (replacing some slats to a porch arbor, and 2 windows). We used custom colors which he was able to match well.
He finished in a timely manner. We did a walk around, identified some details which had not been clearly stated in the estimate - which he completed - with no fuss. Of note, his son and an additional helper were on his crew in the final stages - and some of these details were their responsibility - he apparently had left for other jobs. I was able to catch, and Duke completed, these unfinished details.
Of greater concern was the coverage of the paint - we went from dark to light in color. There has been some bleed through from the darker stain/paint onto the lighter color. Have contacted him, assurances were given he'd come by --- that hasn't happened. Fortunately,the bleed throughs can be wiped away with sponge/water. I see this as a problem on two levels: a paint issue, and a painter issue. As mentioned, Sherwin-Williams paint was used --- I don't believe it covers well. Would not recommend it. The other is lack of follow up by the painter.
Based on these two factors, would not recommend this company.
