Auto Sales
The car had 130,000
miles on it but I was told that the original engine had been replaced
by an engine from a Subaru Forester that was like new. After getting
the car inspected by a mechanic (visual inspection only), I found out
that several minor items had not been completed during the engine
installation (ie muffler hangars, air conditioner charging, etc.).
This showed to me that the engine was installed with little attention
to details. Withing 5,000 miles the car began to have starting and
running problems as well as the engine check light kept coming on.
Eventually it got so bad that a more complete test revealed that the
engine had a blown head gasket. I contacted Little Brothers and told
them of the problems we had been having and he stated that there was
nothing he would be willing to do to help with these issues. One of
the things I requested was that we get at least his discount on
mechanical repairs and he refused. During this discussion it became
obvious that he knew very little about the condition of the engine
before installing it and that it was never really checked out before
or after installation. While the engine was being repaired there were
several other items needing replacement that showed that the engine
had many more miles and was in worse condition than I was led to
believe (it also needed a new timing belt). Right now we have spent
another $3,000 on the car and it is still having starting problems.
I feel that Little Brother just slaps
together a car to make it look OK and run OK just to get it off of
the lot. They don't go over their cars well and don't stand behind
their sales. I would never buy another car from this dealer.
