With the extra ductwork and other refinements, the job took about 2.5 days.
They were very intent on doing a good job and not just plunking a new furnace in and leaving it at that.
They wanted to be sure that the duct system was well matched to the furnace and that all the details of the plumbing, electrical, and combustion air supply were done correctly and met code requirements.
Josh and Gordon who who did the install were competent, friendly, and happy to talk about the details of what they were doing and why they were doing it that way. They did a careful job all the way down to details like sealing the duct joints carefully.
Devon, who did the original estimate, knows the business well, and was helpful in selecting the new furnace model, and identifying some of the flaws in the original installation.
He did a full walk through after the job was completed with a point by point audit sheet.
The new furnace is performing well, and is quieter. It runs longer at lower burner and fan settings than the old furnace did, which results in a more comfortable house.
I put n/a in on the price because we really did not do any shopping around.
A year and a half later, the furnace broke down and I called to have it fixed. I called Monday and the man came Thursday. He fiddled around a bit, said he didn't like the set-up, and said it would cost $700-800 to take the furnace apart and find the problem. At this point, I called another company that repaired the problem for $550, most of which was for parts. The charge for Bridger's and quot;diagnosticsand quot; was $98.
