The work was satisfactory, but I just received a certified letter from a local building supply company stating that a lien was going to be placed on our home because Ted Appling, owner of Allied Construction, diverted the money I paid him upon the completion of one  of our numerous jobs to a purpose other than paying for the materials used for that job.  The amount of the lien is $9253.23.  I called Mr. Appling within minutes of receiving the letter and he admitted that he used the money to meet his payroll rather than paying for the materials used on our job.  I phoned the credit manager of the building materials company.  He stated that the materials were supplied in April and that Allied's account with the supplier has been closed due to non payment.
