It turned out to be pretty simple: the knob was broken, he called a supplier who had a replacement, picked it up, returned and put it on.
He was a pleasant fellow, business-like and professional. My new go-to guy for misbehaving appliances!

Felix was prompt, quick, and thorough. He needed to come back the next day with the replacement ice maker, but he only charged for one service call.

After the initial contact, he ordered the parts,notified me when they came in and made an appointment to install. He was here on time with everything he needed. He was neat, left no mess. He appeared to understand what he was doing and explained how the parts worked. I was happy with his work and will use him again if needed.
