We hired the owner of this company, Greg Wood, before he was with America's Choice Contracting, to replace the roof on our 1930's brick tudor home. His crew was very unskilled and tore the old shingles off (down to the wood) on over one half of our home and left for the weekend. We asked the workers to cover the roof with plastic/protect our home, as we knew the forecast called for heavy rain within 48 hours. They agreed, but did not return to do the job. Our many calls and messages for help to Greg Wood went unanswered over two days. We wanted to protect our home ourselves, but were unable to safely access the roof due to the height and steep pitch. We watched helplessly as heavy rain poured into the second story of our home and made it's way down to the basement through walls and fixtures. Thousands of dollars of damage was done to our home and we had to hire a professional cleaning and restoration company. It took months to repair all of the walls, ceilings and flooring and our family of six was displaced during the process. The following winter ice jams formed due to the poor roofing job (yes, they did finish the roof). Greg Wood Construction was no longer doing business in Great Falls to repair their own faulty work, so we had two other roofing companies look at the problem area and give us estimates. Both companies found major faults, such as high-nailing and no tar paper over large sections. We were forced to remove the entire layer of shingles and pay for another entirely new roof to avoid doing more harm to the inside of our home. Two other homes on our block had been reroofed by this same man previous to our disaster. Over time, both homes have had issues with water damage and large patches of shingles falling off. I believe America's Choice is a national-type chain and perhaps some of their locations have reputable owners who do fine work, but I would definitely NOT DO BUSINESS with any company associated with Greg Wood. He not only provided shoddy work, but was completely unresponsive to communication requests unless it involved him receiving money or a payment.
