Air Controls Inc

Our experience with Air Controls Inc was always really good.  The price is good for what he does.

It didn’t go that well.  Every time they worked here there was an issue.  On one occasion, they left an acetylene torch open right next to the old furnace and it's a miracle that we didn’t have an explosion.  Another time they came in to the house when I was gone and we were working on the construction in the back.  I have severe asthma and they opened all the blowers and the vents in the house to try to gauge how their furnaces were working.  We had sheetrock dust and everything else blown throughout the entire house.  Everything was horrible.  We got that done and the furnace did not work.  We have 2 rooms that are unusable because of lack of heat and in the summer I know that it will be unusable because of lack of cooling too.  They told me that I could fix it if I would pay them to put in zoning.  With our old furnaces we didn’t have zoning and those rooms were comfortable.  We found another instance where they wanted one of the floor heat registers to be open all the time, so they just took the innards out of it and left it so it was open all the time.  They pulled out the fins inside the register so it couldn’t be closed and it was very near one of the thermostats and of course that skewed the readings at that end of the house.  Considering that they don’t work, their pricing was bad.  I did call another company and we now have a plug-in electrical heater in one of the rooms to make it work.

Furnace, when blower engaged, was making "loud" noise.  Unit provided heat, but the "racket" was most unusual.  A neighbor recommended Air Contols.  Left msg at Air Contols' office early next morning; call returned promptly; and technician (Craig)  visit scheduled for early afternoon.  Technician called to advise he was on the way.  Most courteous gentleman diagnosed probable problem as soon as the funance and blower came on -- "...sounds like Combustion Blower...".  Went to the basement; removed panels; confirmed initial diagnosis; called supplier to ensure replacement part available; drove to get the part; returned and installed;; noise/racket gone!!  Checked other working parts  -- OK -- work completed, including travel to get Blower, within 90 minutes.  Totally satisfied!!!
