They arrived on time and completed the work more quickly than scheduled. They were dressed in neat and clean company uniforms. They cleaned up after themselves. Completed the entire "scope of work" in a pleasant, professional and economical manner. We are delighted with their product and service.

I had a very good experience. They are very honest. They are a little high-priced, and he will tell you that too. It depends on what you got him for, if you just got him for small stuff, he’s pretty damn good but for a new install it’s a little high priced, and he will tell you that. They are very nice people to work with.

I've had a service contract with MDU for many years and had to use it for the first time last night (Friday) when I came home to a cold house. Apparently MDU no longer has service people so the sold the contracts to another company. I called this company and the agent took all the information and then said, and quot;since it's Friday night you'll probably have to wait until Monday for someone to contact you.and quot; I told him that was not acceptable I would call someone locally and then cancel my service agreement with this company, and hung up.
After a few minutes I realized that we had paid a lot of money over the years and deserved service tonight, so I called back and the young lady that answered took care of me quickly. She put me on hold while she called Brandon at ACT to give him the call. Before I got off the phone with this agent Brandon was already calling me. A short time later he arrived at my house and had a new ignitor installed within a few minutes and the furnace was working again.
The furnace is 23 years old and Brandon spent time showing me how I could tell when it would be time to replace the unit. I asked for service contract information and will be cancelling my contract with the current company and getting a contract with ACT. Also, when it is time for a new furnace or any other service I will be calling ACT.
I was completely happy with the service and professionalism that Brandon gave me.

They are thorough and explain what they are doing. They also explain how the furnace works and how to maintain it. They are prompt and clean up after themselves, very professional. They service residential and commerical.

Another company (White Heating and Air Conditioning) told me I needed a brand-new one because the bearings were going out (after my annual servicing just last month). I was on their Bronze Service Agreement ($199) and they came out to do the annual spring A/C Tune up which included: check amp draw on compressor and fan motor, check REFRIGERANT CHARGE, clean condenser and acid wash outdoor coil, check drain system, capacitor and contactor.
Well I didnt stand around watching the two and quot;White Hand Cand quot; workers and I guess I should have (just to make sure they were actually doing their job). Once the weather starting heating up, I turned on the unit and air conditioner was not blowing out cold air and kept turning off and on every minute or so. I called them up (White Hand C) and they said I needed a new unit since it was soooo old and the bearings were going out and can't be replaced, so they'd send someone out to give me a quote.
I just had a feeling that I was getting snowed. So I decided to check out Angies List for some help. Found great reviews on ACT Heating and Cooling. Called ACT Thursday evening, and Brandon was out first thing Friday AND FIXED IT!!
The unit was very low on REFRIGERANT (actually it was almost completely empty) and found caps and valves loose and dirty inside. Brandon said it didn't look like it had been serviced at all.

Yes, this unit is VERY OLD and I know it's days are limited, but no reason to replace it until it's dead. I will definitely be calling ACT Heating and Cooling from now on. I highly recommend ACT!!!

Arrived earlier than expected but called to make sure it was okay. Very knowledgeable about my ac even though it is really old. Wore shoe protectors in my house. Cleaned outside unit.

Just before the holiday weekend, our central stopped blowing cold air. We called two other service providers first, neither of which could schedule us until the following week. With temperatures expecting to soar to100 degrees over the upcoming holiday weekend, we weren't really looking forward to spending the weekend in the basement (where's it's always cool). On the 3rd call, ACT Heating and Cooling was able to send Brandon, one of their totally professional and prompt technicians.
At the outset, the service call's charges were less than the other two top rated Angie's List providers, But what really sold us is that ACT called to let us know that their technician was arriving an hour earlier than expected. We were overjoyed at this news on such a hot day!
Because we're maintenance fanatics, the only thing needed was to add a little coolant to the outside A/C unit. Brandon discussed this cost before proceeding with the service. We appreciated being told beforehand exactly how much this service call and necessary maintenance would cost.
One of the other highly rated Angie's List providers, Comfort Heating, had worked at this address in the past for a large furnace/HVAC upgrade installation. They did a nasty job on the out take pipe, meaning that it has a condensation problem during the winter and leaks all winter long. Just love constantly emptying out those 5 gallon buckets of dripping water. Even worse, the pipe is all rusted, corroded, nasty and horrible looking. To be fair, we gave Comfort Heating a chance to make this right. They told us that it was the best that they could do and to just live with it. Sorry Comfort Heating, wrong answer!
The ACT tech, Brandon, took one look at the problem and walked us through what would be needed to permanently and correctly fix the problem in the fall before the winter heating season begins. Although we'll have to pay extra to fix something that Comfort had the chance to do correctly twice, we're happy to not give Comfort another dime. Buh-bye nasty pipe and Comfort Heating, hello ACT! Thank you!

It was 8pm on a Sunday night. I got home from work, my house was 42degrees. Was going into -6 degree night, and had to be back to work at 0700. They came out within the hour and fixed my furnace which was not igniting. Now I will sign up for the monthly program which includes twice a yr cleaning. Very nice and courteous gentleman, and Penny answered the phone. .

They had installed my furnace approximately 5 yrs ago, and did a fine job then. Got it done, no problems

They did a good job. They have always been punctual, and have been able to get back to me right away.

I have called ACT several times in the past and am greeted by and quot;Pennyand quot;. She is always cheerful and answers promptly at 8am.
I have always received same day service, even on the holidays. This particular time, my folks' motor in their air conditioning unit was acting funny, and within 4 hours, Brandon was there diagnosing the problem. He found the motor was bad. He made a few calls and found that there was one located in Idaho, but it wouldn't be here to Billings for a few days. But wait! He went to his work van and found one! He was able to replace the old motor with the new one and it has a one year warranty on parts and labor. The time he was there to when he finished the job was about an hour. Awesome! I would highly recommend customers to call this company for services and repairs. Five stars from me.

The work crew was professional and courteous, did excellent work, and were very clean. We absolutely love the new units.

I gave these guys a call and they were able to get me an appointment the next afternoon. Since I work 8-5, I asked if they were able to come by on my lunch hour. We set the appointment for noon and I was pleasantly surprised when the truck pulled up right at 12. Kevin came in and quickly got to work diagnosing the problem with my heater. He found that the flame sensor was bad and let me know how much it would be. He had the replacement part with him and was able to install it, no problem. Within about 20 minutes my house was getting warm again, and I was able to make it back to work within my lunch hour. I could not have asked for a better experience.

I'm familiar with the entire staff and they are all really good. Whenever you call, you get Penny, the owner's wife, not an automated system, which is really nice. The only time you get an automated system is after hours and it transfers you to an emergency repairman that's standing by. They offer several service contracts, and I have the one that is $20 a month and even wear booties when they come inside to make sure they don't track dirt.

They were great and wonderful. I thought I needed to replace my whole air conditioning unit but they came in and fixed the problem. Actually I wasn't home when they came. They were just very polite and cleaned up after themselves. They were very courteous and very helpful. They were knowledgeable about what they were doing. They were very polite to my wife and family. I just liked them. They did good work. They fixed my problem and did it for a lot cheaper than I was expecting. Their price was great. I will use them again in the future and I wouldn't use anybody else.
