DEAN'S TOWING & RECOVERY

When I arrived, I explained to the mechanic the problem I was experiencing. The owner of the facility told me that the brake cylinder was not the problem and that it was a seal after the assembly was taken apart and inspected. I expressed that I believed the problem to be the brake cylinder and not the seal. Dean (the owner) said that he did not have time to fix the brake cylinder. Dean’s mechanic reassembled the wheel and under direction from the owner informed me that the truck was safe to drive. I was charged roughly $260. Later my brakes were nearly inoperable while driving due to brake fluid leaking out of the cylinder. I was on a major roadway and nearly collided with other vehicles on the road. In addition to missing a critical business deadline I potentially could have caused catastrophic damage to property and personnel due to improper diagnosis. When I called to speak to the owner he failed to promptly return my call and refused to try to settle the problem. I would have preferred to settle this matter out of court. I am currently involving other parties including the better business bureau to address this problem. At this time, I would not recommend this business to anyone who is looking for insured and qualified mechanics or attentive customer service. I have included a picture of the brake. This picture was shown to another mechanic who said that it is obvious the brake cylinder is faulty and never should have been driven out of the shop in that condition.
