Lily doesn't need day boarding. We started it just to get her (and I) out of the house to meet friends. She really enjoys going over to play with other dogs. At 165 pounds she nearly does back flips when I say, "Do you want to go play?"
I am a very over protective "mom" and I totally trust both doctors and all the staff at Saltillo Small Animal Hospital. Finding this clinic has changed Lily and me. She is more confident and happy and that makes me very happy.

They were great with my dog, who can be shy and apprehensive of people. They explained the different things that can be done to alleviate the hematoma. I thought the visit/exam was very reasonable at $34 but I $20 for four pills was a bit more than I had hoped to pay. Out of the three scenarios that was suggested for treatment, I loved that they considered her age and provided great explanation as to what would be involved in each. The treatment that Dr. Tucker thought would be best was to let the hematoma heal on its own but was willing to provide medication to assist in making her more comfortable during the process. Was extremely grateful that surgery was not pushed on me but was respectfully explained. I also received a call from Morgan, Dr. Tucker's assistant checking up on Pebbles to see how she was doing. Very kind, thoughtful and loving care!!!

They are so wonderful there, they are caring, considerate, they get you in in a promptly manner, I never have to wait, they take you right back, and everything is extremely clean. They are top on the line in everything, the doctor take care of everything, and the doctor and the staff, they are absolutely wonderful there. I've only live here for 2 1/2 years and so pricing is a little different here.

I was very disappointed in the clinic. They must not need business. I feel they just take money and not try and understand the pet or your wants.
Response from Saltillo Small Animal Hospital P A
"Dear [member name removed], I am so sorry that you did not have a pleasant experience at our hospital. I think the problem that you had at our clinic could have been prevented had your dog had some sort of socialization or leash training before taking him out into public surroundings. I remember him vividly panicking on the leash because he had never had one on. It made our hearts break that someone would have such a beautiful animal and invest no time in bringing out the best that they could be. We did not get a weight on him because he was in pure panic mode and we did not want him to hurt himself. We did check the side like you asked and spoke to you about flea control and prevention. We also discussed you allowing him to free roam while not being neutered and adding to the population problem of unwanted pets. We also discussed the fact that you feed table food as do the neighbors and this could also be causing the itching due to protein allergies. I find it ironic that you don't see any of these discussions or advice as addressing your problems with your dog. We also recommended a trainer for your dog and gave you in depth training to tips over the phone on our follow up phone call the next day. When we followed up with you again one week later to see how the training was going, we were informed that you had tried to work with him one time. I think sometimes people acquire pets and expect them just to mind and be obedient animals that require no work. Pets require daily interaction and a lot of care, especially in the area of training when they are young. Hope that you and your pet are doing well and wish you only the best."
