My husband and I hit a deer coming home from dinner late one night. The front of our Chev Tahoe was in pretty bad shape. It was towed & repaired at a local body shop. Several weeks later we were called to come pick it up. On the drive home I noticed a jolt in the transmission as it was having difficulty shifting properly. We took it straight to Old South Auto Repair on Hwy 53 just south of Poplarville MS. Mr. Bill Lee is the owner & mechanic there. He suspected that the reverse gear may be going out & recommended a complete overhaul. He gave us an estimate of about $1,500.00. It was covered by insurance & upon calling around realized it was cheaper than anyone else so we left it with him. About a week later we went to pick it up & were very pleased that the final bill was $1,200.00! He told us that the reverse gear was in fact gone & luckily we had brought it in before anymore damage was done to any of the other gears. He did a complete rebuild & 4 years later the truck still runs great! I highly recommend Old South Auto Repair to anyone needing any type of auto repair. Mr. Bill does everything in that shop, engine rebuilds, transmissions, carborators, electrical, you name it! He's open Mon-Sat 7am-until. Very nice & easy to work with. He loves to educate so be prepared to get a full explanation of what's wrong with your vehicle & what services were done when you drop by!
