They promised to be here by 8:30 a.m. and they didn't arrive until after 10 a.m. I briefly reviewed the work we had previously discussed to be done with the lady in charge and then I went inside and left them to the work. I had asked that suckers be removed from around a 12 year old Sago Palm and that Nandinas at the corners be trimmed up. After about 2 hours I came out to see how things were going and found that not only had they trimmed up the nandinas, they had also rounded up the sago palm rather than removing the suckers. The lady who was in charge had left and the workers had misunderstood what was to be done to the palm. With my supervision they removed the suckers from the palm but I'm afraid it won't regain its shape for years. They were supposed to have sprayed a herbicide before laying the mulch and the way weeds are coming up, I'm not sure they did that. The mulch is laid so thin I have had to buy more to supplement the beds. Next time I will stay out with them and supervise them myself.
