was to take up carpet in halls and classroom, office at our Church,
Victory.  the did not get done by time they sad, then didnt order
carpet, would not let anyone get someone else to put carpet down. then
when finally finished the carpet was laid in different directions that
it looks horrible;  so when company called, they were going to make it
right, not charge insurance or church by replacing flooring that others
laid poorly.  seems the one who was the pro, left and didn't come back
so guess was reason it was poorly done. no supervision maybe.
Response from Servpro of Oxford, Batesville, Clarksdale
"Servpro of Oxford, Batesville, Clarksdale did not perform this stated job. Not only did we not perform any of these tasks at this job, but also our franchise does not install carpet. Unfortunately, this person is sadly mistaken."

Over the Labor Day weekend in 2011, Northern VA experienced a severe rain fall. On 9 September 2011, I received a phone call from my tenants informing me that there were several of inches of water in the basement.  I had engaged a contractor who was doing all of the work to repair the damage from the flooding.  During the repair process, the tenants were concerned that the flooding had created a condition that could promote mold growth. The contractor I had engaged to repair the basement was unable to address the mold concerns of the tenants.  To remove the moisture from the basement, the tenants contacted Servpro. On 14 September a Servpro company rep, Will Earthman, called me for authorization to initiate work on the basement.  When I asked him for a cost estimate of the work they were to perform, he informed me that it would be around eight thousand dollars. I asked him for the details of the proposed work. He stated it was a complete tear out and rebuild of all damage in the basement.  I informed Mr Earthman that I already had a company that would repair the water damage and only needed Servpro to remove the moisture from the flooding.  I asked for a revised estimate to cover that specified task.  After consulting “his supervisor” he told me that to remove the moisture in the basement would cost no more than fifteen hundred dollars.  I instructed Mr Earthman to initiate work and reaffirmed that the cost of the job should not exceed fifteen hundred dollars.  After talking to Mr Earthman, I reviewed the conversation I just had with the tenant Mrs Ueker, once again specifying that the job was not to exceed fifteen hundred dollars. Both conversations with the Servpro representative and the tenant was done over the telephone. After seven days, Servpro informed my tenants they had completed work, packed their equipment and left.   Around 17 October 2011my tenants received a bill from Servpro for the work performed at my home. The total balance of the bill was five thousand two hundred and seventy one dollars with no explanation of why the cost of the work performed. When the tenants contacted to company they were provided a sketch of the job and a list of specific tasks performed.   I contacted the billing department of Servpro and informed them of the agreement I had with their representative.  I was told that the agreement was between me and the franchise that performed the work on my home and I should contact the franchise owner. I contacted Mr Jody Broscato, of LL & JP Inc Services, owner of the Servpro franchise that did the work on my home, to discuss the details of the bill.  Mr Broscato informed me that he had talked to Mr Earthman and that their understanding of the conversation was they were reducing their initial estimate of eight thousand dollars by fifteen hundred dollars, not a total cost of the work to be performed.   The contract that my tenant signed was basically an open ended contract with no stated estimate of the work to be done.  DO NOT allow these people to initiate work without a written cost estimate.  DO NOT believe them when they tell you your insurance company will cover the cost.  This corporation specializes in taking advantage of distressed home owners who under pressure of an emergency situation may not read or sign paperwork that in normal times they would not do.
