The first time I called David Wilkinson was to replace a leaking faucet on the outside of my house. It was more annoying than harmful so I wasn't pressed to fix the issue. I called and we schedule him to come by the next Wednesday (that is the only day I have off and he was more than accommodating). He was here by 10, like we discussed, with his brother and they assessed the situation. We stood around talking about a variety of options I could have to fix the faucet and what we settled on was an underground faucet encased in a plastic housing, this would cause the least damage to the wall and would prevent pipes freezing. They left to get supplies at Home Depot and were back after a brief lunch. They allowed me to stand around with them and ask all sort of stupid questions (I'm a rather inquisitive fellow) we talked cars, some of the projects they were working on at their house, and generally just shot the sh*t while they were there. The job was done by 4 and I had a new faucet and cut off valve within immediate access of my front walk way. They cleaned up, packed in some dirt and were gone.
The second time I called was an emergency. I had gotten in from my morning shift at work and my garage was under an inch of water. A PVC coupling that fed water into a shower had burst, spraying high pressure water all over my garage ( thank God the pipe was exposed and not in a wall!) Now I would bet normally this would have been a major problem, water would have been spewing everywhere until someone came by with a T bar and cut off the water. Because Mr. Wilkinson had gone the extra mile and put a cut off valve in with the previous job all I had to do was walk around to the front of the house, lift the plastic top now covering my faucet, and twist a valve to cut off all the water to my house. This luckily stopped the torrents of water soaking my weedeater and various other garage material. Now it is a Friday afternoon, 4 o'clock, and I already need to get back to work for my evening shift. I called David to explain the situation. His brother left the job they were working on immediately, came to my house so he could check the problem, and fixed it, all without me being more than 30 min late. Expecting to be held back hours this was great, more than great. I was in such a hurry though that I had to tell him to just tape a bill to my door and I'll get back to him, I left before he finished the job entirely but he was well on his way to cleaning up.
Wilkinson plumbing is a family run operation. Generally two brothers that work in tandem, both are great guys. They will gladly explain what they need to do, what your options are, and even give their professional advice often gleaned personally from their experiences. I give them an A for everything but price. I feel like they could have charged less- but what can do you? I appreciated their service, gotta be willing to pay. I did mark their professionalism as a B but IN NO WAY should you consider this a bad thing. They are professional plumbers. The only reason they even garnered the B was because their kindness and comradery was instantly apparent over a distant professional attitude, which I much appreciated. These gentlemen are hard workers, punctual, and as honest as they can be. I would recommend them to anyone that asked and hope this review will convince you to solicit their services.
