Bank Of Oxford

Since Oxford is a small town there are not many reviews of the different banks in the area. I discovered that the Bank of Oxford had free online banking so we decided to give them a try. This was a giant mistake. Setting up the account was easy enough. We were able to get everything in order in under 30 minutes and they were kind enough to print out a few checks for free so we could start getting direct deposits into our new account. We were not informed that the online banking portion of the account setup was different from the initial account setup so when I went home to try and pay bills I learned that I had to request access to the online system. I promptly requested access and did not get a response for several days. Since I could not pay bills I was very concerned and went into a branch to get this fixed. I had to wait forever to get helped because there was only one person there doing everything and she answered the phone multiple times and helped two other customers in the drive through before she could get to me. She had to make a phone call to request access again and I received an email later that day to set up my account. I was able to log in and take care of things at that time. However, when I tried to log in again, the user name and password I previously set up didn't work anymore. So back I went the next day to the branch where I again waited a very long time for service. Another phone call was made, my user name and password were supposedly reset and another email was issued however this time I could not regain access to the system. At this same time my husband requested access to the online banking as well with the exact same results as the first time except the temporary user name and password he was given did not allow him to get into the system at all. Long story short, don't go to this bank unless you like long waits, less than helpful staff and an online banking system that you can never access. We will go back to using our out of state bank that we have been using for years and try to make it work from Mississippi.
