Janet A.
Dec 2014
Auto Service
Tech was polite and worked for couple of hours. He hooked the compressor from his truck to Schrader valve off air dryer and failed to build pressure in the system. WITHOUT starting the engine he told me I had a failed engine driven air compressor. This would be very unusual and can't be diagnosed without starting the engine. He said he would be unable to work on the coach in the storage facility. I asked him what I owed him and he said nothing. He told the same thing to the RV Service company who called him out - no charge since they would be unable to work on the coach. On 12/22/14 I received a phone call from Angels Truck Service saying that I owed them 300 dollars (this amount was incorrect.) I disagreed and related that the tech, in addition to mis-diagnosing the problem, had told me there was no charge. I was not given an invoice and didn't sign anything. I did ask that he send a bill and said that if it was justified I would pay it. I said that I had called another company and that the air dryer had failed, not the air compressor. After a series of increasingly argumentative and plain rude phone calls from Paul Gibson, the owner of the business, he responded to a question of how the tech could determine an engine driven air compressor by not starting the engine, by claiming that I was lying, the tech had started the engine. I demurred, saying that the keys were in my hand the whole time. The owner responded by screaming angrily that I was 'crying about the bill' then said he wouldn't pursue the bill since I would "just trash on the internet." He also claimed he had an A- eating with the BBB. The business is not a BBB member and has no rating. Judging from a review of google, yahoo and merchant.com, this business has a practice of overcharging for parts and service, bullying customers and the owner of being very rude. Stay away from this business.
