Poplar Springs Animal Hospital

I scheduled an appointment for my pet prior to the date of service. I called the day of the appointment just to confirm and make sure that the time was still the same. When I called whoever answered the phone made me aware that the appointment was in fact not the same as it was initially and that the appointment was listed in the appointment book for 2:00 P.M. instead of the 11:30 A.M. As you can imagine this was a big inconvenience due to the fact that I don't live in Meridian MS. My dog was not available until close to 6:30 P.M. My groomer who was "Adrian" instead of Angela as the name states cut my dog with the clippers or razor and did not acknowledge the injury. She also left my dog matted and I had to remove it myself. Several other customers in the facility were complaining in the waiting area about the extensive wait. They need more staffing for grooming or better scheduling of pets for grooming. I would NEVER go back to this facility. The intake person did not make me feel welcome.

Dr. Carney was awesome. Super sweet with my scared kitty and explained everything in detail to me. Answered all my questions without hesitation and made me feel at home. And they have separate waiting areas for dogs and cats.

We had our dog put down. It was an ordeal. The people at this facility were very helpful and understanding. I would use them for virtually any service. They also spayed our cat and gave our dog treatment a few months ago, all of which went well.

My mixed breed pointer, Sis, decided to jump our fence. She almost made it. I took her in to Poplar Springs Animal Hospital to have the damage checked out, because I knew she had gotten hurt. The vet started with a very gentle manual exam and suggested an x-ray because of the circumstances of the injury and the dog's reactions. Sure enough, Sis had a green stick fracture. She was sedated and her leg wrapped from her paw to her shoulder. We were given instructions to bring her in once a week to check on both the leg and the bandaging. All of this was included in one price. Even when Sis developed an abcess, the dressing changes every 3 days were covered with no change in fee. She healed very well, and is a happy, healthy, impulsive bird dog to this day.

The doctors and the staff are really great with my animals and they have always been very professional with me. They are the only vet that I use and I will use them again in the future.
