This is the 4th time I have taken my F350 truck in for service. They keep replacing very expensive parts, but nothing actually has fixed the problem. Though I did talk them down to the "discount" price of $99 per hour, The repairs were prohibitively expensive, when you consider that the pulling/towing problem has not been fixed. They also took over a month to complete the repairs. Even though I had a service appointment.
I have taken my F250 in twice for strange sounds coming from the front end. They told me the front end needed the whole front end replaced. They "fixed" it once, but I took it back because I was still hearing the same noise. They told me there was an additional problem so they fixed it too. When I got it back again, I took it to Matthew Windham at Wayne's Tire in Bay Springs. If found out the source of the noise was the warped front tire and the type of tire (all terrain tire). He changed the tire, and the problem was fixed. I suspect that the people at Laurel Ford knew that the sound was being caused by tire.
The F250 also had an oil leak, which they said was caused by a faulty oil pump. I had it replaced, but then within a month I noticed another oil leak. This time they told me it was the seal. SO I replaced that. Another month went by and I noticed it was still leaking oil. I took it back and they said it was the pump. I told them I had recently replaced the oil pump. They said I did not, and when I pulled the service record I saw that it said they replaced a fuel pump. Therefore, no warranty. Why would they fix a complaint of an oil leak with a fuel pump? Does something seem shady here?
I left my Ford ranger when I picked up my F350, becuase the Ranger had a horrible vibration when on the highway. They said I needed a whole new front end at a cost of almost $2500. I left without getting that done. I drove to University Tire in Hattiesburg, MS. There they let me know that I had thrown a weight off my right front tire. University Tire balanced the tire, and fixed my problem in about 20 minutes for $15.
