Interesting, since Electric Pro had picked up the original light for me, I knew where the light had been purchased. I called the dealer, 17 in stock. I ordered the light and had it the next day.
Not sure why they could not find the light, since they had invoiced me for the original and knew where to get the light.
Before they arrived, I opened one of the junction boxes, the one they put under a water facet, and it was full of water and rust. I figured this was shorting and throwing the breaker. When Electric Pro arrived, they inspected the problem and found a second junction box had shorted and fried the wiring and the box.
This box was fortunately mounted on a brick wall because it had scorched and discolored the brick. I can only imagine what would have happened had this been located on our wood house. Electric Pro repaired the box that burned up, but left the other one open, wires exposed. I was told they would replace the box with a different kind that was sealed and buried when they came back to add the back yard lights. This was the week of 06/07/2012.
The following week, a different person came back to install the back yard lights. As soon as they started, they cut the fiber optic - tv/telephone/internet line. They said they would take care of it. Well, when I got back to the office, the internet provider called and asked if there was a problem with the service. I said, yes, Electric Pro just cut the line. The internet service provider stated that they had not been notified. They also asked whether Electric Pro had called the free service before digging. I told them nothing had been marked.
Electric Pro finished up and left before the internet service provider. The internet service provider stated that any professional company knows to call before they dig ? he just shook his head.
Well, Since Electric Pro left before notifying me, I had not had a chance to look over the work. In fact, the junction box was still open, wires exposed 06/14/2012. I thought they would be coming back to finish.
Well, I finally called Electric Pro on 06/25/2012 and told them (Jessica) they had left the box open and the yard light closest to it was not working. She told me she would call me back with an appointment date.
I finally called back on 07/03/2012 and told a different person (Sandy) what had happened and she stated that she would have someone out the next day (after the holiday) ? and she did.
07/05/2012 Electric Pro came out and put silicon on the box cover and screwed it back on (only one screw, the second screw tab has been broken the whole time - but they still put a screw in that one also). Problem is, the cover was not leaking, the water was coming in from the bottom, where the wires come in. They did not even check the light or whether the box had power, just put silicon on and left - apparently.
I called Electric Pro, and spoke to the lady (Jessica) that didn?t call me back last time, and guess what; she still has not called back, and the original issue is still not complete. A month after the first contact.
07/06/2012 Electric Pro has still not called me back. So I called them (jessica) - again. She said that someone had tried to contact me. She said that she would have the service tech call me, he did. Said he would be there Monday.
07/09/2012 - Replaced junciton box. I came in that evening and checked to see if the light was working, it wasn't, no power. I called the service tech, he (Will) said that it was working. Ok, but it is not now. He said he would call the company and re-schedule.
07/11/2012 I have not heard back from Electric Pro, light still not working. I will call them again..
07/17/2012 I talked with Sean, one of the owners. He said he would get someone out to finish the job.
07/19/2012 Sean (the owner) called me, WOW. This review had gotten his attention. He said he would be out tomorrow to see what he could do to make it right.
07/20/2012 Sean and Jon, the owners, came to my house. They kept asking, did we do this work, are you sure our company did this. I felt like they were either trying to say their company didn't do the job, to get out of fixing, or that they were embarrassed. Either way, they did get the job completed and finished.
They kept implying that they would refund some of the money. I did not want a refund, I wanted the job finished. If they felt that they had to ask, they should have just refunded the money without making me have to ask for it.
One concern I still have. The original guy that did the job was a certified electrician. The person they had finish up the job (Will) was not. He was the ?helper? to the other guy, and in training. I am not sure of all the certifications, but I am pretty sure that Will was not a certified electrician.
10/20/2012 When they added the 3 yard lights, they told me they would trench so that the lines would be deep enough that I would not hit the lines when planting. The lines run through a heavily landscaped area. Well, I planted a 4 inch deep mum and guess what, cut the line. See attached pictures. I paid $500 per light expecting an exceptional job for this ridiculous price. Instead, I found that price does not equal quality.
When you came you asked what it would take to make me happy and I said, make it right. You again stated here you are willing to make me happy. All I asked for was to make the job right. You at least should have buried the wires deep enough that I would not cut them, preferably, you should have used conduit. Neither was done.
Not only were these lines not buried deep enough, the ones you ran in the front were not buried at all. I had the old pine straw removed to put new down, and guess what, the lines were not even buried.
So, I cannot change what has already been done, but if you want to make me happy, come back and do the job right. Bury the lines deeper and add conduit to protect the lines. And, just for the record, I did tell you when you came to my house, I had already cut the front yard line. It was only buried about one inch deep.
Again, see pictures.
8/21/2013 - The junction box under the water facet fried again. I called Electric Pro and another electrician, David Mayfield. David was there the next day and dug up the junction box. It was full of water. Seems the water proof junction box is not waterproof if it is installed incorrectly. David removed the underground box and mounted the box further up on the wall - no way water will get to it now. It was an easy solution to a problem that has been going on for over two years.
Electric Pro has still not called me back.
"Member, Will has 4 years of training from the US Navy. I would be happy to bring his certification from the US Navy to your home. I came to your house because you and all of our customers are very important to me. The review you left here was and still is a huge concern of mine. After every job we call our customer to make sure that they are completly happy with us. During our in house call back, you did not leave a negitive review. So, when I read this review I called you immediately to set up a meeting at your home. My goal then and now is to make you satisfied with our service. I never implied that I would give you a refund, I asked you flat out would you like a REFUND! Your answere was no. You told me that if it makes you feel any better I would use your company again. We are working on repairing a portable generator for your father right now. When he brought it in he said that his son had good things to say about us. I work very hard to make sure every customer is happy. I hope your father will be pleased with the work we do on his generator. I still have hopes that I am able to make you happy. Call my cell phone at 601-941-2182 I am at your service."
I've talked to the owner of Electric Pro, Sean Riley, repeatedly since April. He was very apologetic and assured me the money would be refunded. He said he didn't know why Bud put on the wrong fan motor. We all make mistakes. He even said he didn't want me to feel like I was getting the "run-around" , but we still haven't received a check. Apparently in May he sent Bud to deliver the check, apologize and "get his hands on the parts" according to his receptionist (who has always been friendly and personable), but I didn't happen to be home the 2 times he called. In June I contacted the BBB, but so far I haven't gotten any help from them. When we've used Electric Pro for electrical purposes we've been totally satisfied with their service and could believe the statements on their web site "Your satisfaction with the quality of our work is foremost; one unhappy customer is simply unacceptable." I'm sorry for them that we no longer feel that way and have to find another electrician.I will update when we receive a refund.
