 + 0 moreIn the beginning, he told me it would be four weeks. It has now been six weeks and he isn't even half way through the job. He wrote several things in the contract and now he is saying it is not included in the price. He only comes a couple times a week and only spends a maximum of six hours a week working on the job. He has stated several times that he will show and no one ever does. I have been getting every excuse in the book. I have heard several times that he is on his way and he never shows.

 + 0 moreDo not give money down. Do not expect the work to be done in a timely manner. Because I had to hire someone else to finish the job, because he continued to be a no-show, I spent more money than I had expected. After he came back to try to work with me , he asked for $5,000 more dollars. I had to pray my way out of this one. I paid him up front and he told his workers that I would not pay him. Sub - materials will be used as new. He does some beautiful work if you can only get him to do it. ' He refused to give me insurance # .He claimed he had a lic. but said I was about to mess him up. .
Description of Work: Derrick Horton asked for $7,500 to get started on a $15,000 job. He delivered some flooring and was a no show for about four days. He started on August 28,2012. He did not pay his workers and they begin to quit one by one. He could not account for the money and the workers he had not paid. He built a cabinet in one room and did not show up again for several days. He had a painter and electrician to come a do some work, but he would not.pay them. He came back as if he was serious and delivered some doors, molding, baseboard and some flooring. He remodel my bathroom and put knobs on doors and added to the molding. Again everyone that worked with him complained that he wouldn't pay. I was not impressed with him trying to get personal loans for himself. I contacted the BBB and Attorney General's, after he heard that I had filed a complaint he showed up again. I did get some of ny money back in materials, but nothing like I paid him. He did not give me his correct contact address and could not be located. I found him through friends who told him I was looking for hin. I sent him a certified letter suggested by the BBB and it came back to me as no such address. The correct address is 3942 Northview Drive, Jackson,MS 39206
