I visited the store and found a sewing machine on display that appealed to me. I arranged to place the machine on lay-away with a $100 deposit. I returned to the store a few days later (less than a week) and found the machine was still being used as a demo. I decided that I wanted a different machine and asked for either a refund or to apply my deposit to the price of cleaning my old machine. They agreed to neither. They refused to give me any credit on anything. They kept my $100 deposit and I got nothing but an expensive lesson on where not to shop! Do not do business with this unscupulous company.
Description of Work: I placed a sewing machine on lay-away with a $100 deposit. I soon changed my mind about buying that particular machine. The company was unwilling to compensate me for any part of my deposit, or to substitute any service. They kept the $100, and I got nothing in return.

Our company's policy is, we do not give cash refunds on lay-a-way. However we are willing to credit her $100 deposit toward any new sewing machine in our stores, which we have already explained to her. Harold Knight Sewing Machines has been in business since 1948. We have always tried to provide honest and dependable sales and service to our customers. To stay in business as long as we have been, we have obviously treated our customers right.
