CARDINAL BUILDERS

Description of Work: David Caveda is a well known scam artist and crook around Hattiesburg, Ms. His so-called company, Cardinal Builders, is notinsured, not bonded and at the time I had dealings with him he did not have a license. We had a bogus agreement on his letterhead stating he was licensed , bonded and insured, all which were untrue. The contract was that "his co." would complete work on a rental house I owned in Hattieburg. He showed bogus pictures of the work of his "crew", of which there were none. He wouldfind workers he didn't even know in Home Depot and send them to my house and say they were "the best". One was a sexoffender I found out later. He also would arrange for "his crew" to come to work but no one would show up. He also sent over avery old man who was cripple and had no idea what he was doing. He insisted on me buying certain items for him to use but hewould caulk things and NEVER sand or wipe them down and would paint over the blob. I have so many pictures of this. Once Isaw what kind of person this David Caveda is, I started researching him with the City of Hattiesburg and found that there wereat least 6 written complaints about the poor service. In fact one couple, among others, wrote that he came to their house and saidhe needed money to buy the siding, the gutters and they gave it to him. He never returned. He has been evicted from numeroushomes and has left homes in disarray and damaged, including one of mine. He is a con man and will sweet talk you and act likehis is a nice guy all the time his plan is to get your money and not do the work. If you have any doubt, try him out but be ready to get ripped off. He has been in prison for false pretense, has numerous fines from City of Hattiesburg, has 3 counts offalse pretense by them, and many many bad checks, justice court cases and he has never paid anyone back although they winthe case. He has nothing to offer in the way of remodel, paint, anything and has no crew. He is just an ole con who has yearsof complaints against him. All I have written is public record in the computers at Justice Court in Hattiesburg and on a Thursdaythe public can use them. BE WARNED!!! The City of Hattiesburg will not give him a permit for anything. I have that in writing.In fact he will do work without a permit. He did at my house and rigged a 220 wire and I took him to court and he was fined twice.In the end I had to pay a reliable contractor to redo and complete my work needed.
