I had just left an auto glass company, having just picked up my Nissan pickup truck after having the glass company replace a broken windshield, costing me $220. Five minutes later, I approached a church on my right. I noticed a worker outside, cutting the church lawn with a power mower. His vehicle, with his company's logo printed on the side, was parked in front of the church. As I passed by the worker, his mower hit a rock and threw it toward my truck, striking my brand-new windshield and putting a long crack in it. I went to the company's headquarters and complained to them about the damage that their worker's mower had inflicted upon my new windshield. The owners first called me a liar, saying that I had no proof that their worker had caused the damage, even though I presented them with the receipt from the glass company providing proof that the windshield had been installed that very day. They then refused to pay for the damages. I replaced it myself, paying out another $220.
