We had just moved into a new home and there were lots of little things that needed to be done, but were minor enough that we didn't ask for the seller to repair, things like toilets running, florescent lights that didn't work. etc. You get the picture.
I got a flyer in the mail for Andy OnCall, with $40 a service call (can't remember all the details of the coupon). I called and made an appointment. I received a call the evening before to verify the appointment, and Bubba (his actual name) got there promptly on time. He was neat, polite, and made a list of what we wanted done. I then showed him around the house and showed him the various jobs. He went to his truck and wrote up an estimate. I told him to proceed.
He kept me apprised of his progress, and made some suggestions for improvements. With all we had to do, it took him 2 days to complete. He showed me the receipts for the materials, and overall, kept within his estimate. He did a great job, cleaned up after himself, and graciously put up with my big, fluffy cat following him around wanting him to pet him.
We did have one difficulty with one of the chandeliers that had just been removed from our old apartment not working. Russ, the manager, called to tell me it didn't work when Bubba installed it, and offered to come out and remove it so we could take it to a repair shop. That is above and beyond! I would definitely use them again.

He wasn't very quick. He's very overpriced. He left a lot of his materials here. We had to clean up after him. There were nails everywhere. Considering how small this job was, I can't understand

They did a fantastic job, very professional and price was great. I was very happy with them. It's been four years, and we've never had to touch the blinds or fix them in any way.

They were slow to come out for an estimate, but friendly. The person who replaced the door did fine replacing the door that I had purchased. However, the blinds were damaged and glass covered my patio. No clean was done at all. I had to carry a heavy door with broken glass to the curb. Not an easy job.

They were supposed to put up a small fence and take down some gutters. When they came I told them I changed my mind about the gutters and wanted them reinforced which was much less work. When they finished some of the old fence posts where still there and I had to call them back. Also they used the old concrete hole for one of the posts. They charged me the whole $1500. Later on the fence was moved by a storm. They worked on it 1 hour, pushed the dirt around the posts, took out the concrete on the post they had not finished in the first place and filled it with dirt. I refused to pay as the fence was in the same condition as before they worked on it.
Response from ANDY ON CALL
"ON 1/29/08 WE GAVE THE MEMBER A WRITTEN ESTIMATE FOR $1320 FOR LABOR NOT INCLUDING MATERIALS WITH THIS EXACT WORDING:” REMOVE OLD WOOD FENCE IN BACKYARD. BUILD NEW 50' SECTION OF 6 FT PINE DOG-EAR FENCE. BUILD 2 GATES. 1 ON EACH SIDE OF HOUSE. INSTALL POSTS FOR GATES ONLY IN CONCRETE. RESECURE 1 SECTION OF GUTTER ON FRONT OF HOUSE. REMOVE SECTION OVER GARAGE AND RELOCATE DOWN SPOUT." HE ACCEPTED THE CONTRACT AND WORK WAS COMPLETED EXACTLY AS SPECIFIED IN OUR CONTRACT. AFTER WE BEGAN THE WORK HE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CUT THE PRICE OR ADD ADDITIONAL WORK FOR FREE. MY CRAFTSMAN DOING THE WORK ENDURED DELAYS CREATED BY HIM AND HIS ABUSIVE DEMEANOR BUT HE HUNG IN THERE. WHEN THE JOB WAS COMPLETED ALL DEBRIS WERE REMOVED. THE POST HE WAS REFERRING TO AS LEFT AT THE SITE WAS MATERIAL THAT THE MEMBER HAD HAD DELIVERED AND PAID FOR. ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT A PART OF OUR CONTRACT, I PICKUP HIS MATERIAL AND HIS RECEIPT TO GET HIM CREDIT FOR THOSE! WHEN HE FINALLY CALLED ME WITH HIS C/C INFORMATION FOR PAYMENT, HE REFUSED TO PAY FOR $54 IN MATERIAL AND DUMP FEES. AT THAT TIME HE WAS HAPPY WITH THE WORK BUT THOUGHT THAT IT COST TOO MUCH. ON 4/4/08 N.E. JACKSON EXPERIENCED A TORNADO (NOT JUST A STORM) AND SEVERAL HOUSES ON MR. BROGI’S OWN STREET WERE TOTALLY DESTROYED. HIS FENCE HAD TILTED FROM THE HEAVY WIND AND WET SOGGY GROUND. HE CALLED SOME TIME IN APRIL AND WE GAVE HIM A PRICE TO SECURE THE FENCE BY TAMPING THE SOIL AROUND THE POST AND ADDING ADDITIONAL TIMBERS TO REINFORCE SOME OF THE POSTS. TRUE TO FORM HE CALLED AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETE TO COMPLAIN THAT IT COST TOO MUCH AND HE WASN’T HAPPY WITH THE WAY IT WAS DONE. I MET AT HIS HOUSE THE NEXT DAY. AFTER ENDURING HIS ABUSIVE DIATRIBE FOR 5 OR 10 MINUTES I TOLD HIM THAT SINCE HE’S NOT SATISFIED WITH THE WORK WE WON’T CHARGE HIM ANYTHING. REGRETTABLY I ASKED FOR HIM TO PLEASE NOT CALL ME AGAIN. AS I WAS WALKING TOWARD MY VEHICLE HE FOLLOWED AND OFFERED TO PAY ME SOMETHING FOR MATERIALS OR SOME OF THE LABOR. I REFUSED AND DROVE AWAY."
