Southern Oaks Construction & Cabinetry

We started working with Southern Oaks in the early fall of 2012 and went over what all we needed built and we were given an estimate of around 25,000 which we agreed upon. No written estimate was ever given. Around November, we went to the shop to view the cabinets and discuss the different items that we wanted in the kitchen cabinets like pull-outs and the type of stain. Never were we told that any of this would be extra. A few weeks later, we were told that we owed $10,000 more because of the changes we made. I was not happy but paid because we were trying to hurry along the process. We still did not have any kind of written break down of the charges even though I asked numerous times. Because of the holidays, he outsourced the staining to someone else and we had to pay around $4000 for the staining even though that was supposedly included in the first estimate. We have now went way over our original estimate and my husband and his dad still had to install the cabinets in order to save money although that was included in the estimate. After the cabinets were installed we were missing all of the pull outs and "extras" that we had asked for and paid for. After numerous texts and calls, he finally came out to see what we were missing and had them to us that week. The drawers were mostly cut wrong and my father in law had to redo them so they would fit into the cabinets. It was a disaster and I would not recommend them at all. The cabinets look nice but the customer service was terrible! We still never received any kind of invoice for the services provided.
