During the process Mr. Keith was very slow to begin the work (several weeks went bywith no attendance). Once work started Mr. Keith kept raising the price contrary to the quote. Mr. Keith's progress delayed delivery of the sod (which was prescheduled) which unfortunately left the soil bare to the weather. A strong rain occured which washed away more than half of the fill soil. This required several more loads of soil to be purchase and delivered at my cost. Mr. Keith was then unable to get the sod at the agreed upon price so my neighbor had to find sod and deliver it and install it our selves. During the work Mr. Keith stained my driveway with oil from his machinerary and broke off the end of my new driveway by driving heavy machinerary which broke off concrete. He begrudingly fixed it but only after multiple requests, however it now doesn't match. The retaining wall continued to leak water after rains and thus lose soil. He came out one extra time to fix it by installing a silt fiber which should have been used to begin with. This helped some but the wall contined to leak. I called multiple calls over several weeks for him to come back, he never returned any calls or messages (even though before he always answered right away). So I was forced to fix it myself. Mr. Keith never formed the dirt (around the drain) as requested so I had to spend several days re-shaping the dirt as requested. Mr. Keith never returned, never called, and has never been seen again. The project ended up costing about $4,000 more than the bid and I ended up having to fix a significant portion of the work.
Description of Work: Mr. Keith was to build a long retaining wall, fill with soil and lay sod behind my house. This entailed bringing in machinery to trench, set pilings, a dead man, build a drain and build the retaining wall. Then fill dirt was to be brought in to level the back yard to the retaining wall. Then sod was to be laid over the dirt immediately to prevent washout.
