I think their price is fine. I am not concerned about it.
"First of all the member is only the second complaint we have received in 14 years. The first being a problem of an electrician, not hired by us. We pride ourselves on giving excellent service and extremely fair pricing. Her first failure of the valve in question was after 3 years of the unit running. It was a factory part installed by the factory. We replaced the part. Five months later the exact same part, which was a small tube, blew out and lost all the refrigerant. The small tube in question is a factory installed tube. We do not apply heat to that tube, it is factory welded. We do apply heat near the area in question but we take precautions by coating the entire area with a heat dissipationg solvent. Upon completion a vacuum pump is put on the sealed system. If there is a leak or a crack the system will not hold a vacuum. The system held. We felt bad for the member which is why we only charged her $90 in total labor for the second repair, which included two trips. She was charged for the refrigerant which the manufacturer does not cover. We were actually in our right to charge her full cost on labor because the labor warranty was out. We were just barely covering out cost, we didn't make money on the job. Thats not what our company is about, we try to be fair to customers, its not always about making money. We couldn't keep going back over and over again because it was not fair to her and not fair to us. The manufacturer needed to step up and do something which is what we were trying to have happen. It took too long for the member, which I understand, but there was nothing I could do. The manufacturer made us look bad and I still cannot understand how the member can't see our point. We tried to help her out and it backfired on us. She reported us to everyone she could. The BBB took our side and so did the States attorney general. The facts are the facts, I understand she's upset, but to try and give us a bad name is absolutey rediculous. I started this company to give people a company they can trust and at prices that were fair, not inflated. This is why almost all of our work comes from referals. Since then, we have switched manufactures and are using Carrier now. We had several problems getting parts in a timely manner from the other manufacturer, which reflects on us. Since the recession they just were not stocking much anymore and their customer service was going downhill. A change had to be made in order to provide the service I want to provide."
