All service was excellent from the first phone call inquiring about service to clean up when the job was complete. I was able to e-mail photos of the job and get a rough estimate which seemed very reasonable. The actual cost came in under the estimate. It included grinding down and removal of a significant portion of the tree trunk to below grade roots. Mr. Ballard proved that the right tools for the job makes for quick work. He was prompt, very efficient and thorough. We will definitely call on him again should the need arise and are very comfortable recommending him to our neighbors.

I contacted Ballard Stump Removal at 10:30 am, Mike called back by 11:15 am, and came to the house by 12:30 pm. After agreeing to a price for the work Mike started and was finished by 1:45 pm. After reviewing Angie's List, I called several providers for the removal of a large shrub stump in my backyard. Most of the providers were only able to schedule quotes for several days out, while Mike Ballard of Ballard Stump Removal quickly returned my call and gave me a over-the-phone estimate based on my description. I was exceptionally pleased that he was willing to help with the removal of some of the brush, as we did not have access to a truck. We had five tree stumps that acquired considerable new growth since removing the trees quite a few years ago - we wanted to avoid any potential damage they could cause. The stumps were located in the grassy area between the street and sidewalk and the larger the stumps grew, the uglier they looked. When I phoned to get an estimate and/or set up an appointment, I got a general idea of the cost based on my description and we set up an appointment for the next day to get an exact bid. After ending the conversation, based on the positive history I'd seen on the list and assuming there'd be no hidden surprises on the final bid, I called and suggested Mr. Ballard bring his equipment with him and plan on doing the work that day - he is based in Wentzville and I am in Manchester and it seemed like a waste of expensive gasoline for him to make a second trip if it could all be handled in one day. He arrived on time, his quote was quite satisfactory, and the job was handled quickly and professionally. He made helpful suggestions to my husband to replant grass in the area, and it was a very satisfactory experience overall.

We got this man's name from Chesterfield Valley Nursery, but he is not an employee or agent of theirs.. Mike Ballard showed up the day after we contacted him, calling first to be sure someone was home. He took the trunk down to a true stump at no charge, then ground it out with a large stump removing machine. He cleaned the hold out very nicely and took away the dirt and ground up wood we did not need or want. Very good communications and very professional, hard working attitiude. I would use him again without hesitation.
