Response from Boggs Automotive
"First of all, the amount wasn't anywhere close to $2100.00 that was paid. The total bill was $1434.29 and it was for a multitude of work. The customer supplied the parts in which no additional profit could be made on the job with the exception of some small parts totaling $124.41 that he failed to supply or was needed in order to complete the job. We installed his aftermarket headers which took a total of 8.5hrs to install due to the style he had purchased. He also had us install an aftermarket exhaust system that took 4.5hrs to install due to fitment issues. He purchased an aftermarket performance intake manifold and throttle body and was billed for 6.3hrs when the labor guide calls for 7.7hrs . He also purchased an aftermarket cold air kit which had to be modified for proper fitment and was billed for 2hrs for. We billed for the hours involved for what he wanted installed and he was fully aware of the fact that all aftermarket performance parts are billed out by the hours involved and not by the labor guide. Labor guide's are for OEM style parts replacement or repair services. Not for aftermarket performance products. Furthermore, the screw mentioned in his post is not a screw that was removed from any of the work that was performed. After removing the cylinder head and investigating the piece that caused the damage, it was a screw similar to that of one from a throttle body that holds the butterfly. His original throttle body and nor the after market one was missing it. We concluded that it must have been lodged within the new aftermarket throttle body in one of the ports. Upon starting the vehicle, it was dislodged and sucked into the engine. He was not billed for the repair that it caused even though we felt that we weren't liable for the damage. We did what we felt was right and we fixed it with no additional cost to him. All work was performed with complete and total satisfaction and now he waits almost 3 years to right a review that looks negative. As far as getting the work done for half the price somewhere else, good luck."

I stopped in about a week before the services were performed. This shop is very busy and works mostly in foreign cars or engine upgrades for muscle cars. The owner stated he was very busy and would be able to get our car in sometime later in the week and to call back. I called back on Thursday (4 days later) and he did not acknowledge that he remembered me, but he said to go ahead and bring the car in sometime on the following Thursday (11 days from first contact). Our vehicle was towed up to the shop on the requested day. I did not hear from the shop until I called the following Wednesday to find out the issue. The Porsche was repaired and could be picked up that afternoon. I asked the price over the phone and was told it was and quot;manageableand quot;. The car was fixed awesomely!! Better than we could have expected. He rerouted the airhose to a more convenient place so that it would be easier to work on in the future and found a very tricky issue with our ignition. I cannot complain AT ALL about the work that was done.
We have tried to use this shop in the past, but it is unlikely that you will get a quick repair. If you are not in a hurry to get the car back on the road, I would DEFINATELY recommend this highly skilled and knowledgable shop. If you are looking for a quick fix and a deadline for repairs completion... this is not the shop for you. He will finish the job, but you may not get warm and fuzzies during the process.
The labor is slightly more than other shops, but the work was top of the line and I got a sense of pride from him when the work was completed.
Much friendlier in person than on the phone. He loves what he is doing and does not love talking on the phone :)
Sidenote: He is a combat veteran.... support our veterans.

"Thanks for the review that you wrote on the business (removed member name) and also for your patience. Not going to give any excuses for the time frame in which everything took place. My appologies for not sounding friendly over the phone, but I asure you, there was never any intent to be unfriendly. Even my wife says I have a mean sounding voice and I should try to speak in a better tone....:) You were great to deal with and hope your vehicle is still doing well!"

Great
Response from Boggs Automotive
"Thanks for the positive review and for giving me the opportunity to assist you. We try to treat each and every customer as if we were in their predicament. At times we're able to get started on a repair as soon as it arrives and there are occasions when we're delayed because of unforeseen circumstances. I have to make decisions at times to pull my tech's or myself off a job in order to help someone that may be in a worst way. Hopefully, I don't upset regular customers in the process. Most of my customers understand and are patient. I was able to get yours right in and do the repair without creating issues with other scheduled work. As for the repair that was performed on your vehicle, it's always better to do a job right the first time especially when dealing with brakes. I sleep better at night knowing that your vehicle was repaired properly and not just pieced together. Once again, thank you for your business and kind words you've shared here on Angie's List."
