My Three Sons Tree Trimming

Description of Work: I am getting ready to call them again, as I have trees hanging into the lakes that I need managed. I have 80 acres, so there is a lot of upkeep. I have used them multiple times in the past, big and small jobs.

Description of Work: Service owner / representative came to give estimate on removing a tree that had been blown down by a storm and to trim tree branches over house and electric wires. His workers did not finish the job on the first day and stated they would return the following day. They did not. After several calls and promises from the owner, three of the workers returned the following Sunday evening at 8:30pm, I was in my pajamas going to bed. They stated they were going to finish cutting down the tree that had fallen and would clean up the debris pile and stack what firewood was cut in a pile by the gate. It was about 105 degrees out and they attempted to use gasoline to burn the pile. It exploded, severly burning one of the boys. The owner was not there, only two teenagers and one old man. They came banging on my door to tell me what had happened. I recommended that they take him to the hospital or call 911. They refused and said he only needed water to wash off with. The boy was going into shock so I took him to the ER, the others refused to go and said they would stay and finish up the job.I got him to the ER, making calls to the owner of the company and the boy's mother. I was with the boy at the ER for 30 minutes before anyone showed up for him. I found out later that the owner of the tree service was in the parking lot of the hospital , sitting in his car and watched me take him in to the ER. He did not let me know he was there, he was on the phone talking to his lawyer about this. Finally, he came in and shortly after him the other two workers came, they said they had left the fire burning, a big bonfire, and had gone to get something to eat before coming to the hospital.I had to call the fire department and have them go out to my farm, drive out into the pasture and put out the fire. They said it was so dry out I was lucky it hadn't caught the pasture on fire and burned my house and other buildings. I went home, to find that they had not cut down the tree, they had put a big dent into one of my gates, had stolen all my firewood and had not cut the tree limbs over the electric wires. After that they would not return any calls and when I saw the owner at a store, he would not speak to me and practically ran out the door. I found out later that he did not have insurance to cover the hospital costs, even though his business card stated he was liscensed and insured. He was t rying to find a way to sue me so that he would not have to pay the bills. Luckily I had gotten a receipt when I paid him. Although, I will do things much differently in the future, such as not paying them until the job is done.
