I scheduled an appointment for the estimate. During the estimate visit I explained what I wanted: -Removal of small existing retaining wall -Installation of new short structural retaining wall to the end of my garage -Capstones continuing to the property line approximately 20 feet beyond the wall -Ground excavated between the driveway and the wall location -Concrete landing for deck stairs removed I received the estimate and did not like the block choice and asked for a new estimate with a more structural block. I then received the updated estimate along with the block manufacturer installation instructions. I signed it then mailed it and a deposit check. I was given a start date that changed at least three times. Then the excavation started. The skid steer was left parked in front of my garage. It would have been nice if I had been asked ahead of time if I needed access to my garage, but I ignored that because I was just glad that work had finally started. The first row of block went down and there was no gravel inserted into the block, which according to the manufacturer instructions is integral to the design of the wall. I emailed them asking about it and the next day there was some gravel in place. Then the wall was "completed" and capstones installed. Gravel was left between the wall and the garage and in the excavated part between the wall and the driveway which I was not expecting but assumed they thought it was something I had wanted. The capstones stopped at the end of the wall and did not continue to the property line as was discussed during the estimate. There was gravel, rocks, and metal bars strewn throughout my lawn and two long boards left on the side of my garage. I asked them when they were going to pick up the boards and got no response. I let it go because I just wanted to be done with their company. Then a couple months later I happened to be walking along the wall and I saw that the landscaper fabric is not covered in several spots, the gravel was not inserted in each row of block per instructions as the contract stated the wall would be installed, and then I got behind my garage and saw the old blocks that were supposed to be removed. I ignored all the rocks/gravel/debris that I will have to pick out of my lawn. I ignored that the capstones stopped short. I ignored the boards left on the side of the garage. I ignored the lack of coordination before blocking access to my garage. Finding that they just put the old blocks behind my garage and that they did not properly install the wall per the manufacturer instructions are the reasons I decided to share my disappointing experience with Baker Landscaping & Concrete. I have no interest in them returning to my property to do resolve any of these issues. Poor quality work the first time gives me no confidence in their ability to correct their failures.

He does fine. He does excellent work for us. He charges $50 to mow and weed-eat. He's very reliable and he does a good job. I haven't had a bad experience with him except he had a kid with him who kind of weed-eated some of my petunias but other than that, everything has been fine. The pricing is fair. He's very good. I'm planning to continue using him.
