Finding a painter who seemed to know and understand the fireplace whitewashing process was not easy. No one on Angie?s List who I contacted inspired my confidence because none of them mentioned cleaning the brick before they began painting. Paul described in detail how the job would be accomplished, beginning with draping and taping to protect my home. He discussed the nature of the brick surfaces he would be working with and went into some detail with me about what specifically I wanted the finished product to look like. He was by no means the least expensive bid, but we had one shot to get the whitewashing right and he made me feel confident that he knew what he was doing. We set a date to begin what he said would take 3 to 5 days depending upon how things went. Because another job he was working on took twice as long as the contractor he was working for had told him it would take, he asked to delay his start by one week and offered to add a service without charge if there was something else he could do for us. Once they came in and got started, they were as professional and focused as I could have hoped for. Paul?s employee, David, was very hard-working and no-nonsense. They finished the work in 2 ? days and I am more pleased than I can express. Paul conferred with me every step of the way to ensure they were getting the look I wanted and it?s just beautiful.
