BAS CONSTRUCTION INC

I had obtained 3 quotations. B.A.S's firm fixed price was within $200 of the low bid. The other 2 proposals had provisions for increasing costs so were not condidered firm pricing. I did not ask for a B.A.S. reference but another contractor I had previously used during a basement renovation, highly recommended B.A.S. The other 2 vendors had good but not exceptional references, also. B.A.S provided me detailed plans which I was able to make changes to at no additional costs. They obtained all fire and building permits and passed all inspections with no problems. Unlike the low bid which was going to do all the work themselves, B.A.S used other subcontractors specializing in foundations, the basement walls, electrical, HVAC, siding, and gutters. The work proceeded quickly with minimal disruption, dust inside the home, and the outside was graded. I elected to restore the grass area and sprinkler system myself. They did meet with the sprinkler company to reset the incoming water line and electrical lines so they would not be damaged when filling in the soil around the new foundations walls.
