Our team at Deep Roots Construction has over 20 years of experience and we proudly serve the Southwest Missouri region. Created by a group of friends with a vision of quality construction, home remodeling, home repairs, roofing, deck, fencing and painting services, we establish ourselves by exceeding expectations of our clients project by project. Before we started Deep Roots Construction, we recognized many inefficiencies in the construction process. We were inspired to build a team that provides a transparent, informative, and highly collaborative approach to the real estate rehab and remodeling industry. This contractor stole from us. He quoted us $6600 to buy and replace five windows in the front for our house. We gave him $3300 as a down payment to order the windows on 9/14/23 and the check cleared 9/28/23. We never got our windows. No work was done. He pushed us off for 6 months. Finally he offered to give us 75% back because it â wasnâ t his faultâ but we had already filed a police report by then. We are still waiting to hear if the prosecutor will file charges for felony stealing. We have since found out that the representative he sent to give us the quote quit the job because the contractor never paid the employee thousands of dollars in promised commissions. Itâ s almost a year later and we have no refund and no windows.

We contracted with Jay Wilson, owner of Deep Roots Construction, for an attic remodel back in January. We were told the project would take no longer than 90 days (he actually said it would be more like 60). Today is the first of July, and multiple items have yet to be finished &/or started. Weeks have gone by without any communication or workers arriving when we were told they would. When his workers/sub-contractors do show up often times Jay does not have the materials for them to do their jobs. He owes us thousands of dollars at this point (items we purchased that should be credited to our balance and our payment for work that is still incomplete). Last week he said he didn't have enough money to finish the project or he basically wouldn't make a profit. He always says one thing, but never follows through or denies even saying it. I would suggest you stay away from this company at all costs! No pun included!
