Garage door was off the track and pretty bent up. It must have gotten caught on something because the opener was ripped off the door. I figured I was looking at a new garage door. Zach came to my house within 2 hours and was able to not only get the door back on the track but also bend it back into shape, added a support piece, reattached the garage door opener to the door and adjusted the springs. My garage door hasn't been this quiet and smooth in 5 years!!!

We purchased a new garage door opener last year from Overhead and recently had some trouble with the keypad after we had some siding replaced. Not sure if problem was connected to siding work but Overhead was very responsive. They came the next day to check out the problem and did the repair at no cost. The serviceman was really friendly and helpful. Great company! They really stand by their product and provide excellent customer service.

Overhead door was called to repair a garage door and opener at one of my rentals (2316 n 6th st) on Monday 11/11/13. The tech was Bob he charged $97.50 for worked performed: rewound cable and reinstalled roller. This didn't correct the problem. The door would not go up or down. Bob left information about a new garage door for $1445.00. I called the overhead door office asked why they didn't repair the opener. He said he would rather not, I thought they were in the business of repairing garage doors and openers. And he tried to sell me a new garage door again. It occurs to me the only thing overhead door wanted to do was sell me a new garage door and they tried to do this by not repairing it to make it work my door. I know this as I called Martin Door who came out repaired the door and the opener and realigned the door for $138.00 and it is still working today. I would like a refund of the $97.50 as Overhead Door could have repaired the opener instead of trying to sell me a new door on two different occasions. Martin Door repaired the door and opener why couldn't Overhead door do the same? I feel this is very poor business practice. Bait and switch?

MY RENTER DOUG BENTON PAID THE $97.50 AND THE REFUND SHOULD BE MADE OUT TO HIM. HE'S IN THE MILITARY AND I FEEL OVERHEAD DOOR TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HIM.
Thanks,

I was amazed at how quickly Overhead Doors was able to come out and fix the issue.  I called in the morning and they had someone out by 4 pm.  The issue was resolved within 25 minutes.  We were called twice to confirm arrival time and the rep was friendly and polite.
They offer a discounted rate for Angie's List Members, which did bring the cost down.  I would say that the pricing is fair--but the coupon certainly helped.

During the coldest winter in years, my garage door opener decided to stop working.  I called Overhead Door on April 29, late afternoon.  The next morning Ron showed up at my door.  He examined my opener and told me that all the gears were stripped and that I needed a new opener.  Ron gave me some suggestions and I felt he was sincere.  I decided on a model and after checking his stock he said he would come back Monday to install the opener.  Before he left he thoroughly oiled my garage door.  Despite the ice and snow, Ron showed up on March 3 and installed my opener.  He worked smart and was very neat.  My Liftmaster 8550 with battery back up and motion detector purrs like a kitten.

We initially chose Overhead Door because they seemed to be the most reliable of the companies from which we got quotes to replace our garage doors.  Though Overhead Door's quote was the highest we received, because we were most comfortable with the company, we decided to go with them.  We put down the one-third deposit and our doors were ordered.  A few weeks later, the doors were in and we scheduled installation.
The installation was, generally, excellent.  The installer did inform me, prior to installing the new doors, that the window insert in one of the doors was the wrong style.  He assured me, however, that replacing the window insert was a simple process and that it would be taken care of in a couple weeks (as soon as the new window inserts arrived from the factory).  I very much appreciated that the installer told me of the issue before the new doors were up and I really was not too worried about the error, as I was assured it would be resolved quickly and with little inconvenience to me.
After the installer was done, he asked if the credit card on file was how I would like to pay the balance due.  I told him that I would be happy to have the balance charged to the card just as soon as the work was completed. The installer wrote "call before billing" three separate places on our paperwork.
Fast forward a couple of weeks.  I had not yet heard anything from the company regarding replacing the window insert, but the balance was charged to our credit card.  I have now been trying to get Overhead Door to replace the wrong window insert and refund the balance (which we will gladly pay as soon as the doors are completed and correct).  At least six times I have called or emailed people at Overhead Door asking that this issue be resolved. Each time I speak with someone, I am promised that they will look into the issue right away and get back to me with the resolution, and each time I have been disappointed.
Now, one month has passed since the doors were installed and I am still trying to track down someone at Overhead Door to give us the window insert we ordered (so that the window inserts on the doors all match) and refund our money until the issue has resolved.
Unfortunately, our decision to go with a more expensive company with the hope of more reliability has been a bad one.  In retrospect, we should have gone with one of the companies that gave us a lower bid.  The extra $400 we spent to go with Overhead Door certainly did not buy the reliability we thought we were getting.

Appointments for service were available on the day I called, but I preferred and was able to make an appointment for first thing in the morning the next day, so both my husband and I could be here.
The technician called us to let us know he was on his way, then when he hit bad traffic that would delay him, and again when he arrived. He provided us with the option and costs for either a repair or a replacement. We decided that, due to the age of the unit, replacing it would be the best choice in the long run. He recommended using a higher horsepower motor, due to the size and weight of the door, which we had already researched and decided was the best option.
We were able to easily schedule the replacement for the next day. A two-man team arrived as scheduled and quickly completed the installation. Overall, it was a great experience. While I hated to have to spend as much as I did on this unexpected expense, I appreciated the prompt, courteous and friendly service I experienced at every step of the way.

Installer was running late from promised time, so the company promptly dispatched another technician to do the service work. Then the other tech came to do the installation. Both men were very courteous and efficient in performing their work. I was very satisfied with both.

Prompt service.  When Larry told me my opener was probably past it's working life (he didn't check anything to see if it could be repaired, just said it was old and it was about 18 years old) I was fine with getting a new one since he said we probably could not get parts for the one I had anylonger and that a new one would be needed I asked him what my options were.  He said we install two openers and the brand is Liftmaster and I said those were my only options and he (Larry) said yes .  I thought to myself that's odd that they only sell two garage door openers but then what do I know because that's what he told me.  So I thought well if I only had two options I'd go with the higher price one because it had a battery back up.  The price difference was only about $60.
This kept bothering me that Overhead Door would only have two garage door openers that they install, so I went online and was surprised that they have many different options.  Now why didn't he tell me that so I could have had more choices and maybe I would not have spent $589.  So I called the office on Monday and spoke with Brian and he told me that they have multiple options and he wasn't sure why Larry would only tell me they had two.  I could have gotten a Genie Opener installed at a lower price, around $400.  I had a Genie at my old house that was going on 14 years old and it worked just fine, so I know the Genie brand is a good product.
I find what Larry did was a bad business practice by not giving me all of my options.  Why would the company not have a brochure or listing of all of the options based on the need of the customer.  I took his word that you only had two, maybe stupid on my part but I trusted what he said was true. Guess I'll know better next time.

Called for service at 8:10 am.  The scheduler estimated a service tech would be able to get to us before noon.  Service tech arrived at 10:40 am and was finished by 11:10.  The door works great!

Both tension springs broke on our door around 4pm on Wednesday. I checked Angies List for a list of providers and read some of the reviews. I saw that Overhead had serviced several doors not too far from us and that the homeowners had written a lot of positive things about their experience. I called them around 4:30 The service department said they could come out the next morning between 8 am and noon. I was impressed that they could come so quickly. I received a call at 7:30 this morning from Phil the serviceman saying he would be at our house right about 8 am. He arrived right on time. He quickly got to work and in about an hour an a half he'd replaced both springs. We tried to warm up the garage a bit for him since it's frigid cold toady, all of 2 degrees. He said that was ok, he was dressed in layers and use to it. He was friendly and professional. Checking online for what it should cost to replace the springs put the price we were charged at about what companies charge for this service. We were pleased with the service.

A technician had been out several weeks previous and fixed the existing opener which was an older unit. When it failed, Bob H. was dispatched and replaced the unit quickly and efficiently. He was very patient and kind and worked with us to determine what would be best for our needs at the best cost.
In both instances, a technician was dispatched quickly, showed up on time, explained our options, and quickly completed the work.

My garage door seemed to be going berserk - it would open and then immediately close - or close part-way and then stop - or close all the way and then open part-way and then stop - and other such nonsense. I called Overhead Door this morning, and someone was here to assess the problem within a few hours. He told me we were missing some bolts and that was probably our only problem - but we might need a new "closer."  Later in the afternoon, another gentleman appeared, added some bolts, and told me that's all I needed. Nobody tried to convince me to get a new "closer" (even though mine is old) -- and much to my amazement, nobody even hinted that I might want to consider getting a new garage door.  I was very well pleased, and if I ever do need a new "closer," or even a new door, this is the company I will call.

The technician came out and figured out that the cells were not functioning properly. He replaced them. He strongly suggested that I get the maintenance on both doors. This involved putting some oil on the hinges and manually opening and closing the doors. This cost $49.99. I asked if there were any coupons available and was told that I could get the senior citizen discount which amounted to $8.87. After the fact I found out that there was a $30 coupon available on Angie's List. I told the technician that I was a member of Angie's List. I called Overhead Door because the last visit to a different property was very satisfying. I guess that the technician obviously makes a difference.

Very, very  happy with the product and install.
I wanted an insulated door with metal  interior surface, not the hard foam backing of other doors on the market. Also, after enduring a dark garage space for 30 years, I opted to have windows in the upper section which improves the place immensely.  Plus, the exterior color is an exact match to my house trim as luck would have it.(One less thing to paint.)
My garage has low headroom with a minimal backstop so I was somewhat concerned about the install but it came out beautifully. I have more entry clearance than ever before; it seals so snug when closed and runs so smooth and quiet.  No more drafts or groaning, grumbling door.
The installer was prompt, courteous,  knowledgeable and did an excellent job.   Quality all around,  I am totally happy.  Thanks everyone.

The electricity in my neighborhood had been off for several hours the day before.  Because of that I had to open the door manually in order to get my car out.  Because I don't have the strength  to close it properly, it fell with a thud.  Then I was unable to open it again.  The technician came within a few hours of my call.  He taught me how to fix the problem myself if it happened again.

We called Overhead Door Co. when our garage door opener died. They were  open on Sunday to take our call and to provide emergency service, but we went ahead and scheduled for the next day. They got us in right away,  and the service technician was timely and professional. He knew just  what was wrong and installed a new door opener for us within an hour. He had everything that he needed on his truck, we got a quality door  opener with a warranty, he helped me program the key pad and my car  homelink transmitter, and we were able to pay with a credit card, which is always nice. We would definitely recommend Overhead Door Co. and will be using them again.

The garage door wouldn't close this morning, so went to call our regular provider - poof, they went out of business! Oh, no! So, turned to Angie's List to find these guys. Could NOT be more pleased. Called at 8:45 AM; the technician out right away; door fixed before 10:30 AM for a very reasonable price. Technician Dean was very knowledable, professional, and didn't try to sell us something we did not need. Extremely fast service; very pleasant people to work with; very skilled tech; no hard sell to do anything we didn't need - so very refreshing! We'll be back when we need anything done to our garage, and will be glad to recommend their services to friends/family.

They repaired our garage door, but I can’t use my garage door opener. I have to manually open and close my garage door even after they came and fixed it to the best of their ability. They also suggested that I will need to replace the garage door.
