Kelly'S Painting

Pete quoted a price for the work of $2400.  After I had electricians rewire the house which required knocking holes in the walls I called Pete to re-quote based on  the holes made by the electricians.  He raised the price by $400 and I agreed.

He wanted $800 down to begin work, which I gave him.  After about a week of work, he requested a halfway payment of another $800.  Again I gave it to him.  One week later he requested another $400 to help pay for his helpers.  Again I gave it to him.  Three days later he told me that he could not finish the job because he did not have enough money in it to pay his helpers!

I told him that I worked with him in good faith.  Used his quote.  Trusted him because he had painted the exterior of my house several years ago.  He said he would finish the job himself.

The next day he worked about 4 hours patching holes.  The next morning I discovered cracks in the patching that he did!  He used drywall joint compound to patch two large holes in plaster walls!

I called him and told him to come and get his tools that he was done!

I had another contractor doing some drywall work in another part of the house.  When Pete came for his tools, he also took some of the other contractors tools!

Do not use this guy.  He is not honest and will not live up to his quotes.

I had to have another contractor come in and do the job.  He had to tear out all of the work that Kelly did and redo it all.

They did an excellent job.  We even negotiated the terms of payment.  I don't like to make a sizable payment up front for any work that is done.  I really like to pay when the work is done.
We came to an agreement that made us both comfortable and it worked out grate for us both.
I recommend using Pete for any painting that you may need.
