Affordable Painting

Barry and his crew completed all the work very efficiently. Barry even re-did a ceiling that had been repaired by someone else. They were willing to work over the Christmas holiday to get this done quickly. This is at least the fourth time we and our family have used Barry and his associates and will certainly call on them again as needed.

Barry came the first day by himself, right on time and very courteous. Barry did mud and sand all walls in two bathrooms also sanded and applied the first coat of paint to our bathroom vanity. He said it would take two trips... On the second trip he brought his crew, they were on time, very courteous and professional. The quality of work was excellent. Before Leaving they mentioned that the mail box post did not match the color on the house and suggested that they would paint it so it would match...we really appreciated that extra effort!

Barry did two big jobs for us in the second quarter. they went as smoothly as they possibly could have. Barry does one great job, from the first contact to discuss the project, to the final clean-up. Comes at the appointed time and jumps right in to get the job done. He has a great color sense, and knows what's hot and what's not. A gentleman, and has a great crew. I won't use anyone else.

This was hands down the best, easiest experience for any home project we have done. He was able to come out the same day to give us a quote and it was VERY fair. He was able to do the job within a week or so, and completed the entire job with two other painters (who were all very professional) in just a couple of days!!! They did a great job, kept things clean, cleaned up well. He even left us the extra paint! We will def. use this company in the future, and tell anyone who needs a painting project done about them. Thank you!! 

Great.  Barry is easy to work with and was very, very accommodating to our schedule.  We used his experience to resolve so many little things that he knows how to handle because he has seen them so often.  He has done several jobs for us and is the painter to go to for us.  I have recommended him to friends and business associates needing painting services.  A really good contractor.

They were prompt and arrived when they said they would. Cleaned up each day when they were through and I didn't have to clean until the entire job was done. Went out of their way to do whatever I asked of them.
I needed a few touchups and called Barry. He came back and an hour or less was completely done. I will be using them again in the spring to have the outside painting done.

I contacted Affordable Painting due to their excellent reviews on Angie's List.   We made an appointment for owner Barry Wood to come out two days later to give us a bid on our project.  We wanted only the walls in each rooms painted since the ceilings and woodwork were in good shape.  Lightly sanding the walls and patching some holes were to be included in the proposal.  Three days after the appointment we received a written proposal by mail that included prepping walls and painting 2 coats in all rooms.  We requested that Benjamin Moore paint be used and Barry estimated that we would need 13 gallons.  Also included in the proposal was the moving and re-arranging the furniture in the rooms.  We also asked that the job be completed by June 25, 2015.  The proposal also stated that it would take three men two days to complete the job.  Everything was clearly stated in the written proposal.
Cost was broken down by labor and paint:  $1540.00 for labor plus $600.00  for paint for a total of $2140.00.  There was approximately 1 gallon of paint left over which we will keep on hand for any touch-ups or repairs that might come up over the years.
We ended up having our job done early due to rain that pushed back some of their exterior paint jobs.  So, happily for us our job was completed by May 27.  Well ahead of schedule!
Once I had selected the color of paint to be used, Barry took the extra step of coming over the Saturday before the job was to start  to paint several large test areas to be sure I was satisfied with the color I had picked out.  
I did remove any breakable items from china cabinets and bookcases myself, but the painters moved all the furniture and covered all the floors.  Barry and his crew were very pleasant and easy to work with and did a great job of cleaning up at the end of both work days.   And most importantly the newly painted walls look terrific!
I would definitely hire Affordable Painting again and I strongly recommend them to anyone looking to have any painting done,
 

Barry is mild mannered and very respectful.  He is very conscientious and makes sure what he is going to do is what you really want.  He even went so far as to purchase our chosen colors and make poster-sized samples so that we could place them around the house to view in various rooms/light situations

Our house was empty when they painted, so while they didn't have to completely clean up every day, we were there every evening, and we always found their things organized in an orderly fashion, and our living areas (kitchen and baths) neat and clean.  They also swept and dusted at the end of the engagement (I was present).

A crew of 4 worked on our house.  I was in and out often, and all were respectful and friendly.

The quote we received from Affordable Painting was SIGNIFICANTLY less than four other A-rated providers from Angie's List.  I cannot say enough good things about Barry and crew.  You won't be disappointed if you choose them.

The work was excellent. Very professional. He showed up on time and even squeezed in the work over a limited time frame. The work was perfect. He was very gracious. The house was left pristine clean.

Barry and his crew did a great job. Communication with Barry was great. He's easy to reach and responds quickly and explains everything thoroughly. His price was better than any of the other estimates. He and his crew are very neat and detail oriented. I highly recommend Affordable Painting.

Barry was very good about working with our schedule. This was a project where we emptied one room and he painted it first so we were able to move the office furniture in there,  and then they made a second trip to finish the project and paint the other bedroom. We were very appreciative of the responsiveness to our desire to get the second room painted so we could proceed with new carpet, etc. We had used Affordable Painting last fall for our whole lower level and once again, they did not disappoint.

From quote to final job, we could not have been more pleased with Barry and his crew.  
Barry was prompt for the appointment and fair in his pricing of the job.  In speaking with him at the initial quote appointment, we could tell he was knowledgeable in his craft and even had a few suggestions on things we hadn't thought of.
Due to our schedules, it was a couple of weeks before the work could be started but Barry was in touch during that time so we had no missed communication.  The crew arrived on time to start the job and the length of the job was exactly as Barry stated.  The crew was careful with our belongings and moved furniture for us as needed.  They were extremely neat and careful to keep floors and furniture covered during the job so we had no mishaps.  The paint looks wonderful and all the woodwork is smooth and professionally finished.

I wanted to refresh a bathroom and bedroom and I called Barry. I had used him in December, 2012, and he did such a good job that I didn't hesitate to give him a call for this job. Again, I am very pleased. Not only did he paint the bathroom and bedroom, but he even touched up my walls that he had painted on the first job he did for me. I really appreciated that! I always feel very comfortable around him and his guys. They are great!

The. Crew was on time, courteous, and professional. The quality of work was excellent. The clean up upon completion was exceptional. We were very pleased with the price, the quality of work, and the conduct of the crew. We would definitely hire this company again.

After hearing a friend, known to be very particular about things, rave about "her painter" for years, I gave Barry a call.

He is responsive, detailed oriented and clear about when and what is intends to do. He can also very busy, so call well before you expect to get the work done and get on his schedule. Work was well done and reasonable priced. Barry values the reputation of his work.  He will check-in to make sure that your expectations were met and that you are satisfied with the results.

Everything from the very first phone call to the last meeting and payment was superb! We have a 2-story tudor style home. We wanted to change then traditional dark brown trim to something lighter and more contemporary. The quality of the work was excellent including taking the hunter green front door to a vibrant red. This required multiple coats and it turned out great. Very easy to work with and always did what he said he was going to do. I highly recommend this company and will use them again.

Barry and his team painted parts of our house as we prepared to put it on the market for sale. Interior work included a bedroom, bathroom, garage and basement wall that was covered in hockey puck marks. Exterior work included several window and door frames. They were able to fit us in to their schedule on short notice and the price seemed fair for the work performed. The work was done to very good quality and the crew was professional throughout the project. I would use Affordable Painting again, and would recommend them.

Barry was a pleasure to work with. He is low key and honest. He noticed things we did not and painted a couple of doors he felt needed painting. We will have him back in the fall to stain our deck. He and his crew did a great job and even finished early. I plan to use him again for another project.

I had gone with Barry after his detailed explanation of the type of job he was going to do. We waited for the perfect weather in spring to do the exterior painting. Barry was very responsive in letting me know his schedule and did the job right and when the weather was nice. I would recommend Barry to do different jobs of painting.

Barry Wood was terrific to work with.  He is professional, courteous, prompt, and does high quality work.  We have used Barry many years ago and have referred him to friends, neighbors and co-workers who all have high praise for his work.  Upon calling Barry for an estimate, he returned the call promptly, provided a very reasonable quote, and then helped us select the proper paint for the room which he changed our minds totally and now love the color.
