Handyman Service
I saw their ad in "Feast", an upscale, local food magazine. Their ad said their work included "electrical repairs, plumbing work, carpentry, general maintenance", etc. All Work Guaranteed. The initial home visit was $39.00 and included evaluation and 30 minutes of work. Since I knew it was the diverter, no evaluation was needed. I called the company and scheduled an appointment for the next day.
Their handyman, Rudy, showed up about 45 minutes past the scheduled time. He was not familiar with the 'diverter' and started looking for it under the sink. I told him it was in the faucet. He took part of the faucet apart and pulled out a cartridge and told me that was the diverter. He kept saying that they were building sprayers with no pressure these days and he thought this was the way it was suppose to work. I knew this was not true. Since he had not really done anything, I asked him to tighten the faucet base and seal around the granite to prevent leakage. He told me he didn't have the supplies or equipment to do this.
When I took the cartridge to the plumbing supply store, they told me this was not the diverter. I now decided I needed a real plumber. I called the company for them to make this right. They told me they would send their licensed plumber, Jim, the next day. But instead of the plumber, Rudy showed back up. In the meantime, I had found the faucet manual and showed him where the diverter was located. He finally got to it, pulled it out and said it was "fine". Even I could tell it was corroded and not fine. He put the faucet back together and again told me how faucet sprayers were now made with no water pressure "to prevent splashing".
I finally called a real plumber and had the problem fixed in about 5 minutes. I now have water pressure in my kitchen sprayer.
