We have two condensers that were disconnected. Following reconnection, neither unit worked. Rather than take ownership of the issue, Mertens' wanted to charge me again to fix their damage.

Our air conditioning unit died.  I contacted 4 HVAC companies.  Because of various factors, we had to replace not only the A/C, but also the furnace.  We selected Mertens Heating and Air Conditioning Service over the others for a couple of reasons.  But probably the most important was, not only do they have a great record here on Angie's List, they came highly recommended by two friends who have worked with them.  Matt Mertens was able to come to our home the same day I called.  We had the opportunity to purchase the unit from a friend who is in the HVAC business and Mertens was the only one who was willing to do the labor even if we did not purchase the unit through them.  They provided us with four options plus the one where we would provide the unit.  As it turned out, their pricing was so good, we decided to purchase the HVAC through them.  Also, they had a 10 year warranty on all parts and labor for the HVAC units they provided.  This was the best warranty from any of the contractors we contacted.  Tim and Matt came and put tarp down on our hardwood floors to help prevent damage.  They were very neat and extremely professional.   Our electric breaker switch needed upgrading and this was included in their price.  It was an additional charge by all of the other companies we looked at except one, who required we hire a separate electrician to come and do the work.  Mertens is also putting together the paperwork for rebates that we are eligible for.  We found them to be dependable, and honest about how best to meet our needs.  I highly recommend them!  As an aside, we are now using them to service our HVAC on an annual basis.

They come out every year to service the air-conditioning in the spring and the furnace in the winter.  They clean and do routine maintenance on it.  They also check out for any problems.  They are very professional.  My air-conditioning and furnace are 23 years old.  They keep it running along so well.  I appreciate that they don't rush someone into getting something.  I think that's a really good attribute to have in this day and age.  I think there are a lot of places that are a little cheaper, but I guess you get what you pay for.

From start to finish, no problems. The serviceman was professional, friendly and helpful. I have used Mertens for routine maintenance on my furnace and air conditioner for over 16 years. They are trustworthy and reliable.

They've done a lot of work for me over the years. They seem like good guys.

They always maintain the heating and A/C units in my house. I like them because they are very prompt and always came when they say they would. If there is something wrong, and they fix it, they always stand behind it.

I called when this happened and Mertens came right out to assess the damage. Unfortunately this wasn't covered by my annual maintenance contract, but they still gave me a reasonable rate.

Mertens is a family owned company and I have been using them for 4 years. They are reliable and don't try to fix things that don't need to be fixed. I don't remember how much they charged me, but it was reasonable.

They were recommended by the company that made the furnace and they have ended up being a great company to work with. I am very pleased with them and I would recommend them to other people any time.

I have a high regard for Mertens Service. These are nice guys and they respond very quickly to emergencies as well as to just normal maintenance calls. They are neat and professional and they offer a very low price.

Always satisfied with Mertens for repairs and maintenance on our two heating/cooling units. They respond quickly and make repairs promptly. When we installed our new system we went with a lower bid than the one from Mertens and have always regretted that decision.
