Performed on-site inspection and provided recommendations for repairs I could make myself. Very professional and courteous. Answered all our questions clearly and thoroughly.

He came out when he said he will and did what he said he will do for the price.

Kent was on time and examined the basement, walls on the first and second floors, the space between the upstairs ceiling and the roof, and the exterior of the house. We were happy to learn that the house is structurally sound and he provided recommendations on maintenance asndrepairs. We wanted recommendations from a structural engineer who was experienced with a home of this age and construction and had was not providing the repair work and thus had no vested interest in the recommendations. Now we have the information needed to get bids on the repair work. We would recommend this company to others and will use again if needed.

I was concerned about potential major problems with support beams. Kent put my mind at ease and pointed to an inexpensive and effective solution to minor sagging. Job completed to my satisfaction.

Kent Macpeek visited and was a great listener and was clearly knowledgeable about his field. He was able to immediately tell me that many of my concerns were not structural issues, and made educated guesses about the sources of some of the larger issues. On the most serious issue, he was not able to say for sure unless we opened up one of the walls, but he was able to say it wasn't a structural problem and could be addressed later (when I had been planning on renovating that part of the house anyway). Recommended companies to do business with if necessary. All in all, he was a great resource and was able to put my mind at ease. I would recommend him without hesitation.
As an aside, he thinks that he was the engineer who spec'ed a beam in our house before we owned it. That beam is holding up well with no signs of stress.

Contacted provider and had Dr. Macpeak to the home to review the basement. Another provided suggested that I need to have piering work done on my home due to the home settling. Also was seeking what was the main support of the home and looked at the attic for possible finishing. Provider informed me of the main supports of the home and that pier was not occuring. Allowed me to ask any question about the home.

It went well. Kent MacPeek was knowledgable and comforting since we've heard comments from OMG to not bad at all. If the situation worsens we will be calling on Kent for further advice.

The man was a professional and before we even got to explore the issues we knew about, spotted several others. His attention to detail helped us to diagnose problems without having to do any expensive analysis or engineering work. He helped us out on two houses and both times was efficient, instructive, and brutally honest.

The inspection went very well. I was really nervous about the cracks in the walls and floor and he said their was nothing structurelly wrong with the basement.

Get a numbered price up front. I thought $500.00 was going to be the final cost.

Frontenac engineering were awesome. They arrived promptly and listened to my concerns, walked around the house and explained the areas I needed to be concerned about. Frontenac engineering gave me a time period to getting the work done by and also recommended 3 different companies who were in the business of correcting structural damage. I would use them again and I would recommend them to anyone who needs their services.

They were very pleasant to deal with, gave an accurate estimate, provided the services they promised, and did it all at a reasonable price. They were very detail-oriented and professional.

Kent Macpeek, their Sr. Structural Enginner came out and evaluated the master bedroom ceiling and a wall between the kitchen and den. The master bedroom ceiling was demolished except for the structural members. We want to install a peaked ceiling and Kent was knowledgeable about what we needed to do and in what sequence it had to follow. In addition, he reviewed the wall between the kitchen and the den because we want to demolish it and have a more open floor plan. He had an out of work architect do the drawings. The problem with Kent was that he never told us what this work would cost. I left several voice mails asking him for a cost. When he finally did get back to me, he said that if the work wasn't going to be near $1,000.00, because he would have let me know beforehand if it was, and that the work wasn't going to be "even near that amount". When I called the architect to get the completed price, he said that it was $937.50. I was very upset and called Kent right away. He gave me a big song and dance as to why the price escalated. Both my husband and I are engineers too and we estimated the cost to be between $300 and $500, not anything close to what it came to. I'm not complaining about the quality of the work, but I am stating that this was totally unprofessional of Kent and his engineering firm not to be up front as to the cost. I would never use them again.
