Performed on-site inspection and provided recommendations for repairs I could make myself. Very professional and courteous. Answered all our questions clearly and thoroughly.

Wanted to save other members some time.

Called to arrange for an SE to review a house currently under contract. The company will not provide SE services to houses under contract.

Kent was on time and examined the basement, walls on the first and second floors, the space between the upstairs ceiling and the roof, and the exterior of the house.  We were happy to learn that the house is structurally sound and he provided recommendations on maintenance asndrepairs.  We wanted recommendations from a structural engineer who was experienced with a home of this age and construction and had was not providing the repair work and thus had no vested interest in the recommendations. Now we have the information needed to get bids on the repair work.  We would recommend this company to others and will use again if needed.

I was concerned about potential major problems with support beams. Kent put my mind at ease and pointed to an inexpensive and effective solution to minor sagging. Job completed to my satisfaction.

Kent was very professional and punctual. He looked at the problem and gave us all pertinent information that could be potentially useful for us in the future as well.

Kent MacPeek inspected our basement where a beam had been installed using 4x4s to hold it up to support the kitchen floor when the kitchen was remodeled 13 years ago. He also inspected our bedroom wall which was pulling away from the other walls. He explained what needed to be done; wrote out a detailed list of what needed to be done (to be given to a contractor); and gave us the names of several contractors to investigate to do the work. Kent was professional and extremely knowledgeable. The information he gave us was exactly what we needed and well worth his fee. We will use him/the company again if, heaven forbid, we ever need this service again.

Kent Macpeek visited and was a great listener and was clearly knowledgeable about his field. He was able to immediately tell me that many of my concerns were not structural issues, and made educated guesses about the sources of some of the larger issues. On the most serious issue, he was not able to say for sure unless we opened up one of the walls, but he was able to say it wasn't a structural problem and could be addressed later (when I had been planning on renovating that part of the house anyway). Recommended companies to do business with if necessary. All in all, he was a great resource and was able to put my mind at ease. I would recommend him without hesitation.
As an aside, he thinks that he was the engineer who spec'ed a beam in our house before we owned it. That beam is holding up well with no signs of stress.

Contacted provider and had Dr. Macpeak to the home to review the basement. Another provided suggested that I need to have piering work done on my home due to the home settling. Also was seeking what was the main support of the home and looked at the attic for possible finishing. Provider informed me of the main supports of the home and that pier was not occuring. Allowed me to ask any question about the home.

It went well. Kent MacPeek was knowledgable and comforting since we've heard comments from OMG to not bad at all. If the situation worsens we will be calling on Kent for further advice.

The man was a professional and before we even got to explore the issues we knew about, spotted several others. His attention to detail helped us to diagnose problems without having to do any expensive analysis or engineering work. He helped us out on two houses and both times was efficient, instructive, and brutally honest.

The inspection went very well. I was really nervous about the cracks in the walls and floor and he said their was nothing structurelly wrong with the basement.

Get a numbered price up front. I thought $500.00 was going to be the final cost.
