Ferguson Roofing - Commercial Division

Badly. The roof was replaced on time as scheduled. However, the chimney flashing was not initially replaced. I called afterwards and they came out again, promptly. However they haphazardly bent what appeared to be fascia around the chimney and put some caulking on it and a few screws.. I'd called and e-mailed repeatedly to have it done properly around the chimney. With the flashing cut and folded into the brick joints then mortar'd over like i had requested. When originally getting bids on roof replacements i was concerned about the chimney leaking since the previous owner had trouble in the same area, and was asking each company that gave bids if they did this type of work. I would not have even selected Ferguson if i had been told that they don't do that type of work. I was assured they did. I called in and emailed a few times requesting the chimney flashing be done like described and was finally informed that "we don't do that kind of work", and that the way it was done was appropriate. I initially with held payment until it was completed as described. However the contract wasn't specific in describing the work, and I eventually paid out of concern of a mechanics lean. It's barely a year later and the fascia is starting to separate from the chimney and there are visible gaps the caulking between the fascia and brick. The recent heavy rains made the leak apparent when wet spots started showing on the ceiling and the fireplace in my living room. I've contacted Ferguson asking if they will cover the cost of the repair. I'm getting some bids from a few companies now since Ferguson does not do this type of work. If you have a chimney i would stay as far away from this company as possible.
