I don't know how to explain it, but I had an older car and it smelled like rubber burning and so when I took the car down there and tell them they would never be able to find anything. They asked me "When do you smell it?" I said "Well when I come home and get out of the car I can smell it in the garage." So they couldn't find anything. This went on for about 2 years until the car just died at a stop light. The did figure out what happened but I can't remember. They contract with a company that does the towing. The towing company has no customer service. I would never use the towing company again. 
  We was having this ice and snow storm, it was like a Friday evening and I called the tow company and they asked if the car was parked or if it was just out in the street. It was parked on the street and they asked me if I could wait until Saturday and I said sure. They came and towed it and Dobb's works on Saturdays, but Sundays they are closed. I think I got it back Monday. It was pretty fast. You get an itemized printout of everything they did and the charges are broke down separately.

I have been using them for a long time. I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima. It's only got about 100,000 miles on it. I keep driving it, it's still a good car. The reason I keep taking it there is because when it was new I had a check engine light that kept coming on. Whenever I took it to the dealer it always cost me money. So the last time I was at the dealer it was $700, but then I didn't really have to do it now if I didn't want to. I thought "Well that doesn't really make sense if it's a safety issue." So I went to Dobb's and they couldn't fine anything wrong with it. Sometimes they are all booked up. They are fast. If you live in a certain radius of the shop they will provide a ride, so they take me home and then they come back and pick me up. Before they do anything like repairs or replacing, they call me and let me know how much it's going to be. So if it's reasonable and something that needs to be done I tell them to go ahead and do it. They always check with me first.

He quoted me a $3200 price for a reconditioned engine and all the fixings. I said OK, but then decided to have the car towed to another mechanic for a second opinion. When I called Josh to say it was being towed away, he told me it was too late. He'd already placed the order and I couldn't back out. I said, it's been 45 minutes. It hasn't even shipped yet. He whined about having to spend his time canceling the order. I said give me the number, and I'll cancel it. Well no, he said he'd do it. THEN he called me back and said he had put it on his PERSONAL CREDIT CARD because "we don't have a program like that" and they told him it would be 7 to 10 days before they credited his card. I couldn't believe anyone would fall for that, but in case they would, I thought I'd post this review. That was bad enough, but then the other mechanic, who has an independent business and doesn't work for the car company, said the crack was an engine defect that the manufacturer had extended the warranty for. I needed to take it to a dealership. Josh either didn't bother to look this up or knew it and was taking advantage of me. PLUS, because of the nature of the defect, a reconditioned engine wouldn't necessarily have a corrected defect, so Josh could have sold me an engine that would eventually had the same problem. He charged me $114.95 for the diagnosis, which I had paid not realizing that his diagnosis could have cost me an extra few thousand dollars down the road. So con artist or incompetence, either way, I'll never go back to Dobbs.

We liked the price and convenience.

Work was fine as always.
Guys were very respectful of woman customer and did not act condescending.

They were very courteous when dropped off the car and picked it up from them. They called me when the car was done. They got the car done when I needed it back.
