Description of Work: They cleaned and lubricated a friend's clock for me. On the date that they had said they would have the job finished, I went to pick it up. At first they could not find the clock among the dozens lying around to be worked on. When they did find it, they said they had not yet "quite finished" the job (but I don't think they had even started on it). They then suggested that I should buy her a complete new mechanism, even though her mechanism had been replaced about 15 years ago. Eventually I got the clock back at the price that had been quoted and it works well. But I was not impressed with their professionalism.

Description of Work: I bought a grandfather clock for my daughter at an estate sale. The clock looked good and was inexpensive. I called Clockmaster to make it run. It is now a fabulous grandfather clock, keeping perfect time and beautiful chimes.

 + -1 moreI AM SO GLAD I DID NOT LET CLOCKMASTER FIX IT. THEY OFFERED ME THE OPTION OF PUTTING A QUARTZ MOVEMENT IN IT. THE SHOP THAT ENDED UP FIXING IT TOLD ME I WOULD NOT BE HAPPY WITH IT AND MIGHT AS WELL JUNK IT IF THAT WAS DONE. THANK GOODNESS I DID NOT LET CLOCKMASTER RUIN MY CLOCK. THEY WERE EXTREMELY NICE, BUT I FEEL THEY TRIED TO TAKE ME TO THE CLEANERS WITH AN EXORBITANT REPAIR PRICE ON MY ANTIQUE ELECTRIC BULOVA CLOCK ($450). THEY TOLD ME THAT WHEN REPAIRED, MY CLOCK WOULD BE WORTH $500 OR MORE. I HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT THAT ELECTRIC CLOCKS ARE ONLY WORTH ABOUT $275-$300 & MECHANICAL CLOCKS ARE EASIER TO REPAIR AND WORTH A LOT MORE.

 + -1 moreI WALKED IN WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. THE BATTERY NOT ONLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT THE WATCH NEEDED TO BE WATER PRESSURE TESTED. BEFORE WE FOUND THIS SHOP, MY WATCH WOULD BE MAILED AWAY AND I WOULD HAVE TO MAKE A SECOND TRIP TO THE SHOP TO PICK IT UP. VERY POLITE AND SAID HE COULD DO THE WORK WHILE WE WAITED. AT OTHER SHOPS IT WOULD BE 3-7 DAYS! NEW BATTERY AND TESTED FOR ONLY $17. VERY REASONABLY PRICED!
