 + -1 moreIt is now working . We're only 5 days in, but I hope this fix will last for a few years. Responsiveness is only a B because we had to wait over a month for a house call. BUT, clock mechanics are few and in demand.
Description of Work: Gears were stuck on our grandfather clock. I had stopped keeping time and chiming.

 + -1 moreNeedless to say, it was completed much faster and the clock now hangs in our home with other clocks that chime. It has been operational now for over two weeks, and have not had a bit of problem with it.
Description of Work: This is the second time I have used these folks and was again not disappointed. I had an old grandmother clock repaired, as it had not worked for over 15 years. I brought it to them in the first week of February and they told me that they would give me an estimate to see if it was cost effective to do such. Within a week, I received an estimate on which they told me that it would be sometime in May when it would be completed at the latest.

 + -1 moreThe gentleman who came to the home was prepared to do the task that I wanted, handled the job in a very prompt fashion, as he checked out all the various movements as the chimes and melodies went off throughout his work. I was extremely pleased on how he handled this job, and even took the time to answer a number of questions that I had always wanted answers to. There is no doubt that I have found a place that will take care of my clocks in the future, and currently have a grandmother wall clock that is nearly 100 years old being handled by them as I write this review.
Description of Work: My wife and I love antique clocks, and have been fortunate over the years to have a few precious ones in our collections. I have a Howard Miller Grandfather Clock from their Presidential Collection that stands as the centerpiece of our home. The care that it needs is simple, but takes a professional to do the simple maintenance that it requires every 4-5 years. I had asked if they made house calls to do such a thing, as their are not many "clockmasters" going into this trade. After contacting a few people on Angie's List, and after talking to the lady on the phone, I went to the shop to see what they had before I scheduled my appointment. Needless to say, they were able to schedule the appointment within a few weeks around my busy schedule, and they were out to my home just as promised (in fact 20 minutes early)

 + 0 moreNew battery failed on same day and lady clerk was argumentative. She said it worked when it left the store and I said it did not work a half hour after I got home. This was a 40 mile round trip to get the battery replaced again.

 + -1 moreAs I stated, after calling them and finding directions online, I went there. I was treated in a friendly way, and the repairman was able to find a replacement for the particular part my new clock was missing. There was a watch repair woman there who was very pleasant and friendly. I enjoyed chatting with her while I waited. I couldn't believe the bill was only $5.00.
Description of Work: They were able to replace the minute and hour hand mechanism on a designer clock I'd bought at an art fair. It took very little time, and at $5.00, was a great bargain. I noticed while waiting that the shop is very clean and the clocks and watches are beautifully displayed. I plan to return with two very old watches to see if they can repair them. I would recommend this shop for any clock/watch repair.

Description of Work: My antique grand father clock has worked well over the 30 years since its last repair/rehab. Of course it was long overdue for attention when it finally stopped ticking lately. There are a limited number of folks out there now that are skilled in this work, and Angie's List acted as my referral. The repair person, (Mr. Good, that isn't a joke, he is perhaps the business owner), was very professional, diagnosed a need for oil and a little fine tuning which was completed within the hour. I really had anticipated that an expensive rebuild was going to be required on the bushings and gears, but that turned out to not be the case. Indeed, I should be good for another 3-4 years apparently. I felt confident of his expertise and he was very professional. I give this business my highest rating, and only worry that he may not be available for me the next time help is needed someday. He was punctual and courteous, the price was a bargain. This is one of those service reports that one really looks forward to making about work done at their house.

Was told estimates were done just that day. Prices seemed very high for two little clocks with no major damage. Picked up my clocks and did not have work done.

Description of Work: I took a cuckoo clock in for service and repair. They would able to spot the problem and corrected it. They also did a quick review of the overall condition of the clock and provided a recommendation. Although I offered to pay for their service, they said there would be no charge and hoped that I woulc come back if they could help me in the future. I thought this type of business ethic no longer existed. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely go to them for future needs.

 + -1 moreHad three watches in need of battery replacement. The quote given at the Galleria watch repair shop was $39.99 for each watch. Took the watches 2 miles down the road to Clockmasters and had all three repaired and pressure tested within 20 min for exactly half of the total price quoted above. Additionally, the service was extremely friendly and professional. Overall, I'm very impressed and would definitely recommend this shop. Will definitely use again in the future. Thanks very much guys....keep up the good work.

The gentleman arrive on time, repaired the clock, gave me some tips on care of the clock and then left. For only $90.00 my clock is up and running again and I am a very happy and satisfied customer. I should also say that I will call them everytime my clock needs service.
Description of Work: The gentleman from Clockmasters reset the chain and weight in my clock. He inspected the clock gave me some very sound advice regarding the winding and care of my clock. He also reset the lunar calendar on the clock.

Description of Work: We just purchased an old clock and needed a tutorial on how to wind, set, and treat it. Gene from Clockmasters spent a good 15 minutes talking us through how to get it up and running. His instructions were beyond helpful (tried to research this information on the internet and got a lot of different answers). We look forward to taking it in to them for the necessary oiling and maintenance. Wonderful experience!

 + -1 moreAs always, these guys are the best. I have a great deal of respect for them and their knowledge of clocks and timepieces. They appreciate a good timepiece or clock and will do whatever they can to repair it for you.
Description of Work: I took a 40+ year old Howard Miller wall mount pendulum clock in for basic service and a tune up with the understanding that if there was a problem I would be called. I had inherited the clock and to my knowledge it had never been serviced. During the inspection it was discovered that the mechanism needed to be replaced, I was called, given the cost of the part and labor and OK's the work.

Description of Work: I have a grandfather clock from the 1700's. Another person had worked on it several times but it still wasn't running correctly. Robert came to the house and reviewed the clock and took it away for repair. He is very knowledgeable and clearly loves clocks and their repair. I have had the clock back for a month and it is running better than ever. It really needed someone with the patience to give it care and that's what Robert did! In addition, he cleaned and maintained a Swiss clock that we have.
